FCUOY = Yate heritage
Bit of a random one but we’ve made it into the Yate Heritage Centre’s local football exhibition in the build up to the World Cup.
Boatload of clubs highlighted including Chipping Sodbury, Yate Town and Old Sodbury. Clubs with much more history than us 😂
The guys down there have done a great job so why not pop in over the next couple months and take a look.

What a day ☀️🍻⚽️🦍
Yesterday saw FCUOY celebrate 10 years since we started. A load of old and current faces taking the field in a game which ended 3-3. The select XI winning on penalties.
The ‘away’ side took the lead, a mix up at the back (things never change) saw Reece Packer letting the ball go through his hands and Kieran German scoring an OG. But the Sunday XI equalised soon after, a free kick from Ben Weaver was well saved by Dan James, Matt Ellery’s rebound hit the bar but fell to Mason Poole who headed home. HT 1-1. Second half and Matt played a lovely through ball to Tom Edmunds who finished really well across goal as the Sunday XI took the lead. Then, a great ball from Weavo found Sam Makepeace who rounded the goalkeeper and turned it in… but back came the away side! After Paul Dwyer made a good save, James Day headed home the rebound to make it 3-2. Then Dariuz Davey doing Dariuz Davey things, scoring a bullet header from a great Kev Murray corner. 3-3 FT. Kieran Sutton missed for the ‘away’ side, but Kiddie Sheikh and Tommy Eds missed for the Sunday side. The select XI winning on pens!
Head to our instagram for all the videos!
Thanks a lot to Zoe Alexander and Ian Bright for the videos/photos. They’re bloody brilliant.
Was a great turnout, thanks to everyone who joined us 👏🏻

Final 10 players announced, and we’ve definitely saved some of the best ‘till last…
Tomorrow is our 10 year anniversary game where FCUOY Sunday XI take on an FCUOY XI.
The final portion of 5 players are in for both sides 🦍
Sunday XI;
Some of the clubs most decorated players join up with the Sunday XI. 527 games, 331 goals between them. Tommy Eds, the goat Ben Weaver, Sam Makepeace, Liam Hammond and director of football Liam Payne round up the squad.
FCUOY XI;
Some equally iconic FCUOY players here… Jack Philpott, fresh off saving the world. Joe Harding, ressies skipper Dan Leworthy, everyone’s favourite player apparently Dan James and the loveable yet equally annoying Kieren Myler.
Weather now looking lovely, so come on down for some really crap football

FCUOY 25/26 summary, season 10 ✅
With both sides achieving promotion last season, it was always going to be a tough year for the club. Accompanied by a number of key players not returning due to injury, moving away etc.
The firsts were sitting atop the standings with 6 games to go, but 5 defeats in those 6 saw us slip and finish the league in 4th spot in a really challenging and competitive league for this level. 16 of our last 19 games separated by 2 or less goals. Special mention to Joe Mawson + Sam Makepeace who finished 3rd + 6th on the leagues top scorer’s chart.
Top appearances;
James Payne - 24
Dan James - 23
Ethan Cobley - 22
Top goals;
Joe Mawson - 19
Sam Makepeace - 13
Lewis Wynn & Kieran Davis - 6
The ressies finished 2nd bottom in a year marred by team dropouts, with the league finishing with only 7 teams. A real good B&D cup run saw us get to the semis, eventually losing 2-1 in a close game with eventual league winners Bristol Boys.
Top appearances;
Dan Leworthy - 16
Jack Millman & Mason Lingard - 15
Jason Nichols - 13
Top goals;
Orran Bond-Maggs - 4
Kieran Bailey & Dan Restall - 3
Then 9 players with 2 🤣
A decent season for the club, in which we knew was going to be difficult going in. 1sts starting really well but tailing off and the ressies struggled to build momentum but a decent cup run. Ressies also bled in a number of new, young players which plays a big part in the continuation of the club.
Overall top appearances
James Payne & Dan James - 24
Kieran Davis & Ethan Cobley- 22
Joe Mawson & Stephen Clapp - 20
Overall top goals
Joe Mawson - 20
Sam Makepeace - 15
Kieran Davis - 8

100 GOAL SCORERS FOR YATE
Bit of a crazy stat this one, on Wednesday 22nd April Dan Thompson became the 100th different scorer for FCUOY (doesn’t he look happy about it).
Some iconic names in there.
Best goals to game ratio goes to Nani (no, not the ex United winger) with 3 in his only game for the club as we battered Dynamo with a team fullllllll of ringers. Not even sure what his real name is but man what a player.
Goalscoring keepers, yes JP was our penalty taker for a while and had a very good ratio to boot.
Mr and Mrs Own Goal should be very proud of their son for breaking the clubs top 50 scorers.
