Green Yoga Crow

Green Yoga Crow Hi, my name is Paula and here at Green Yoga Crow we practice yoga for children and adults in and around Somerset.

We move, laugh, breathe, connect and find a little space and stillness for ourselves so that we can live our best lives.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, today marks the Autumn Equinox. A time where the natural world offers us a different rhythm. We are part of nature. We live in a culture that asks us to constantly strive and expand, to improve, achieve, become more. Yet nature doesn't work that way. There are seasons for blossoming and seasons for retreat, for reaching outwards and for turning inward. The Autumn Equinox reminds us that we are in a season of transition and that rest, release and decay are not failures of growth, but a crucial part of the cycle.

This week's classes will offer an opportunity to consider whether rest, reflection and endings, might be just as valuable as expansion.

For this week's Thursday evening class, bookings close at 7pm tonight and for Friday mornings classes, bookings close at 9am tomorrow, so do get booked in, if you can feel that call to pause, to retreat and to simply be.

See you on the mat. Paula x

The life of a yoga teacher! Friday afternoons are spent cleaning blocks, belts, bricks and washing yoga eye pillow cases! But using Purdy & Figg to clean the blocks makes it feel like a joy and never a chore! What a great week of sharing the love of yoga it has been. Thank you all 🙏❤️

So many beginners put off trying out a yoga class, in fear of being made to feel silly or inadequate because they feel they don't look a certain way, or they are not as flexible/strong as they feel they ought to be. THIS is what I'd like all my students to know - yoga is an inside job...we can use the poses as a tool to focus deeper within, but the poses are only a tiny part of what yoga is.
I still feel that I am a beginner after many years of practice, and I'm happy with that. It means I get to continue to learn, to practice and to share yoga with others. So, do come along just as you are. You are welcome and there will be a class and a teacher for you out there. Paula ###

The Joy and Creativity is bubbling up inside me as I craft our yoga classes for this week. I love this process of delving into yoga philosophy and blending this with daily life. It is WHY yoga is still so relevant thousands of years on and why so many people practice. If you are wanting to join the Thursday evening class this week, you have to make your booking by tomorrow evening and for Friday morning classes, booking by Thursday morning...24 hours in advance lovely people ###
If you are new to yoga or returning after a break and you'd like to come and feel the benefits of this wonderful, ancient practice, drop me a message or give me a call. Paula x

Ah September, how I love this month! The tinge of Autumn in the air...that back to routineness that feels so welcome... cosy socks and my birthday month.

I have missed all my wonderful students and friends and I'm so looking forward to reconnecting; to be back in the routine of our shared weekly yoga practices and the joy of time and space that the regular practice brings.

Classes restart the week after next and are all up and live ready for booking on the website and the Studio Bookings App. Hatha Yoga - Thursday evenings 7:30pm-8:45pm, Friday mornings 9:30am-10:45am and Friday Chair Yoga 11:15am-12:15pm all at Merriott Village Hall. So go grab your class passes and get booked in.
On your marks, get set, GO!

If you are new to yoga, or are looking for a class, get in touch with any questions and come along - there will be a warm welcome waiting for you. Paula x

A beautiful yoga day retreat to nurture in nature. A day to refill our cups. Hatha yoga, Herbal teachings and meditation, pranayama, yin yoga, nidra, mandala and gorgeous food grown with love and prepared the same way by Ed and in the most stunning of surroundings... so much gratitude. And the added bonus of two of the funniest dogs that shared the day with us and made us all smile and laugh...especially when they stole the tennis balls that we were using as part of our yin yoga 🤣. What a day! The next yoga retreat day is in the planning and coming very soon - watch this space. ❤️

This week our yoga has had a focus on the 'pause.' That space where we replenish and restore. In a world that rewards doing over being, rest is often treated as a luxury rather than a fundamental need. Our bodies, minds and emotional systems are designed to ebb and flow. Just as the breath has an inhale and an exhale, life needs its pauses. It is in the space of these pauses that the power of yoga reveals itself.
If you find yourself in a constant state of doing over being, yang over yin - this may be your call to join me on the mat. In the Dao, there is a verse that says ' Know the Yang, but honour the Yin.' Come and join us next week and dedicate a little time to yourself, for yourself. Much love, always, Paula ###

Wowsers!!! I'm afraid I'm going to be stereotypically British and talk about the weather!🤣 It is darn hot (also stating the obvious) ...so with that in mind, our weekly shared yoga practice will be luxuriously slow, with a bit of a yin feel to it, so we can honour what our bodies and asking of us, instead of pushing on through, as we might sometimes. Come as you are, a sweaty mess is fine and I'll have the air con on ready for you all. See you on the mat, this Thursday -7:30pm until 8:45pm and Friday morning 9:30am until 10:45am and Chair Yogi's 11:15am until 12:15pm. All classes at the beautiful Merriott Village Hall.
