📢 Important Update for Passport to Leisure Members

We would like to make customers aware that Somerset Council will no longer be offering the Passport to Leisure scheme from 1 January 2027.
✅The good news is that Freedom Leisure will continue to offer discounted concession memberships for eligible customers across our South Somerset centres.
✅There will be no change to the eligibility criteria, and customers will still need to provide proof of eligibility when applying or renewing their membership.
We are currently finalising the name of the scheme for 2027 and will share further details in the coming months.

👉Our commitment remains the same: helping local people stay active, improve their health and wellbeing, and access affordable leisure opportunities.

🎊Goldenstones member Chris Jones enjoyed great success at the RS Aero National Championships in Eastbourne, competing against 72 sailors in challenging conditions.

⛵Choosing to race in the 32-strong RS Aero 5 fleet, Chris secured the Grand Master title (65+) and an impressive 7th place overall with a series of strong finishes.

💜Supported by his fitness training at Freedom Leisure, Chris is now setting his sights on the RS Aero Inland Championships in October.

Congratulations to Chris on a fantastic achievement! ⛵🏆

💜Meet our newest Flair member Emma.

My name's Emma and I'm so excited to be supported by the FLAIR support scheme, run by Freedom Leisure, as I pursue my sporting goals! 🥇🏃🏻‍♀️
In the summer months I compete in athletics events for my local club, Yeovil Olympiads AC, in a range of events but most commonly throwing a hammer! This season has been a real journey and a few highlights included breaking the championship record at the Somerset county championships, with a 50.89m throw. A few months later I also won the South West inter county title with another 50m+ throw. I am excited to have access to facilities that will allow me to build the strength I need to chase down even bigger goals next season! 💪🏻🏋🏻‍♀️
In the winter I'm also fortunate enough to follow another passion of mine in the form of winter sports. For the last few years I have been generously supported as I began learning to race skeleton sleds down an ice track at motorway speeds! This winter I hope to return in a slightly different fashion...you'll have to wait and see what that is! ❄️🛷
