After winning the previous two games Barmby played their final group game in the pre season Pocklington cup against Pocklington 2nds.

A sluggish start from Barmby allowed Pock to take an early lead and even with the wind at our backs Barmby struggled to get a foothold in the game with Pock edging the half, just before half time Barmby were denied a penalty when Ashley was shoved in the back when put through on goal but the ref seemed to miss the push.

The second half Barmby dominated from the start playing into the wind it wasn’t long before we got on level terms Jack Daly’s through ball put Jack Creaser through on goal and he coolly slotted the ball home for the equaliser.

Five minutes later and Barmby took the lead this time Dan Simpson played the ball through and Creaser again slotted home 2-1 Barmby.

Pock’s defence all of a sudden seemed all over the place and two minutes later Jack Daly again was the provider for Creaser who turned his man running clear and again another quality finish and 3-1 to Barmby.

Barmby made four changes and were still as dominant, further chances fell to Harry Millett, Quanny, Creaser and Shep all unable to convert and add to the lead.

An encouraging second half performance as Barmby made it 3 wins from 3 beating Pock, Market Weighton and Howden.

Man of the match goes to Jack Creaser for his hat trick adding to his tally in pre season games.

Defensively Barmby were solid with Shep and new signing Arthur forming a great partnership.

Next week we have a friendly Tuesday at home v Haxby and then Wednesday is the cup final at Pocklington v Stamford Bridge 7.30 KO under the lights.
