MATCH DAY 9
Old Malton Vs Poppleton Tigers
Poppleton are on their travels to the Old Malton cricket ground? Rugby ground? The gannock?
We were at them all 😂
Before the match started, respectfully both teams wore poppies and had a 2 minute silence (lest we forget).
Poppleton with only bare eleven. Which wasn't great! Especially on a heavy pitch.
As the game starts it's Poppleton who starts the fastest, playing some good football and using the wings well.
As Old Malton were playing the 4-3-3 system. With Poppleton really pushing and having about 5 corners on the bounce with some goal mouth scrambles and a brilliant save from the Old Malton keeper, who somehow managed to save the ball from under the cross bar then on to the bar and out.
As the first half wore on, it became a Old Malton midfield battle with Poppleton top defences. Poppleton having the impressive Jack Yates back alongside his center back Max Jefferson.
Then out of nowhere Old Malton got a goal, making it.
Old Malton 1 - Poppleton Tigers 0
Half time.
No panic! A full half to come and the 2nd half begins.
Poppleton remember what they need to do and In the first 15mins , they began to pen Old Malton in their own half with the wide areas being bombarded with full backs Charlie Norvs Norville and Elliott Jones getting forward.
But Old Malton was defending well and their goalkeeper was in fantastic form.
Poppleton won a free kick on the edge of the area with Cameron Wakerley standing over it, he struck it over the wall and with the keeper pointing at it with his nose. The keeper hits the ball and it comes back into play over the Poppleton players to follow in... So close!
Poppleton continue to push to equalize but leaving it open for Old Malton to counter. But Poppletons keeper Charlie Wells was in fine form, saving it with his feet.
Then Poppletons Chaz Haigh gets brought down by the Old Malton defender.... Peno!
Poppletons Cam Wakerley puts the ball on the spot, the ref blows the whistle. The Poppleton player takes it and......... The Old Malton keeper saves it.
This. Keeper was on fire!
Both teams are tired now. But Poppleton were still pushing.
With Old Malton bringing all their players back to defend as the game is clearly coming to an end.
The ball clearly strikes a Old Malton players hand. The Poppleton players all appeal but it's waved away by the referee.
Full time.
Old Malton 1 - Poppleton Tigers 0
A well worked 2nd half performance. But the football gods were against us this week. And also I had to check if the Old Malton keeper had a cape on 🦸.
Man Of The Match
Isaac Breckons who is starting to become a midfield general 👏.
Special mention to Elliott Jones and Charlie "Norvz" Norville for showing good energy from the full backs.

MATCH DAY 8
Poppleton Tigers Vs Brooklyn.
My apologies for the late match report. Our match reporter has been off with writers block 😃
Poppleton Tigers go into the match still with key players missing for a tough game against the team from Malton.
As the referee gets the game on the way.
Poppleton were taking a while to settle into the game, when Charlie Bunce gets played in only to be denied by the Brooklyn keeper who pushed the ball out across the goal when the man of the moment Dan Sinclair to score from a tight angle, to make it
Poppleton Tigers 1 - Brooklyn 0
That's Dan Sinclair's 2nd goal in 2 games.
But in true Poppleton fashion Brooklyn reply straight away making it.
Poppleton Tigers 1 - Brooklyn 1
The game restarts and the next bit of play was amazing as the ball gets played into midfield to Liam Mahoney with two of Brooklyn players closing him down. He then did the Zidane roulette (you tube it) sending both players to the shops....
Then had the calmness to slide the ball between the two defenders into the path of Chaz Haigh going one on one with the keeper and makes it.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Brooklyn 1
And then you guessed it!
Brooklyn scored and made it.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Brooklyn 2
Then Brooklyn scored again. Making it!
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Brooklyn 3.
Poppleton need to settle down and get back to playing instead of getting involved in Brooklyn's game plan of hit and chase.
Soon enough Poppleton got back level with a "Norvz" long throw into the box and sat up nicely for Charlie Bunce to volley into the roof of the net. Making it
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Brooklyn 3
Poppleton are back level.
With half time approaching, a little bit of red mist descended after a foul on a Poppleton player.
The red card was given which then Poppleton were then down to 10 men.
Half time!!!
With a reshuffle the 2nd half begins. Brooklyn had taken the lead making it
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Brooklyn 4
This young Poppleton side didn't panic going behind. Even with 10 men.
They soon equalized with a nice pass by Charlie Bunce to Chaz Haigh to make it
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Brooklyn 4.
Chances for both teams and it's Brooklyn who take advantage of playing against 10 men and soon make it.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Brooklyn 5.
It's raining goals again down at the millfield lane. (Might start charging entrance fee 😀)
Poppleton have to find something now, the ball was on the edge of Brooklyn's penalty area with Poppleton midfielder Liam Mahoney who fires a shot in to the right top bin.... Making it
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Brooklyn 5.
What a goal!
Poppleton are bang at it now. And are pushing for another, with Charlie Bunce involved to find Chaz Haigh who pounces before the Brooklyn goal keeper!
Making it.
Poppleton Tigers 6 - Brooklyn 5
With 5 mins to play, it was all about hanging on for Poppleton.
But to give Brooklyn credit, they refused to go away. And soon equalized, making it.
Poppleton Tigers 6 - Brooklyn 6.
With the Poppleton coaches deciding weather to be happy with a point or go for all three, Brooklyn get a corner and snuck the ball in at the near post. Making it
Poppleton Tigers 6 - Brooklyn 7
FULL TIME...
There was a lot of disappointment about, after all the hard work. But football will do that to you.
Man Of The Match..
Chaz Haigh for his hattrick and for been a constant menace 👏
Special mention for Liam Mahoney, the skill was out of order 😃
I wonder if one of the Brooklyn lads can get me a pint of milk, if they are still at th shops 😃
🍊.... Until next time Tangers fans.
MATCH DAY 7
Poppleton Tigers Vs Huntington
Match day 7 sees Poppleton in cup action, away at Huntington at the sports club on North lane.
Poppleton came into this game with some key players missing which is not good considering Huntington are from the league above. Leaving us with the bare eleven.
The pitch was in decent condition considering the rain we have had, with also very impressive goals. But the match balls ummm..... Must do better 🤔.
As the referee (that's one of the best in the league) gets the game on the way, it's Poppleton that starts quickest with chances coming but not taken.
As the 1st half goes on Huntington start to push for the opener. But Poppleton stay strong, limiting Huntington to long range shots. That were blocked either by Poppletons defenders or saved comfortably by Poppletons keeper Charlie Wells.
There is not much between the two sides, but just before half time, a cross comes in and falls to a Huntington player leaving him to roll it into the far corner.
Huntington 1 - Poppleton Tigers 0
It's a shame Poppleton couldn't hold on for half time.
2nd half starts with much of the same chances from both teams. But Huntington took control making it...
Huntington 2 - Poppleton Tigers 0
Poppleton keep going and begin to feel it now, plus with Poppleton not having any subs.
Huntington are starting to push for the 3rd goal, but blocks from defender Max Jefferson and super saves from Charlie Wells keep Poppleton in the game.
Huntington soon put a move together that opens up Poppleton to make it..
Huntington 3 - Poppleton Tigers 0.
With no subs to use, Poppleton move players about and most noticeable Dan Sinclair to striker and it made a impact!
Poppleton midfielder Keiran Wozniak swings the ball in the box and finds Dan Sinclair who was waiting, he hits the ball low and hard across the Huntington goalkeeper and into the far corner...
Huntington 3 - Poppleton Tigers 1
With only 20mins to go. Poppleton decide to go for it.
Charlie Bunce gets in and puts the ball across the goal but no body can get a touch... So close!
That would of put Poppleton back in the game. Buts as Poppleton were pushing, Huntington got another goal, killing the game making it...
Huntington 4 - Poppleton Tigers 1.
Then again, just before full time.
Making it...
Huntington 5 - Poppleton Tigers 1.
The score is not a true reflection of the game but Huntington deserved that win, as they played better football.
Man Of The Match
Charlie Wells 👏
Special mention for Max Jefferson 👍
Back to league action on Sunday against Brooklyn down at millfield lane to test Poppletons BounceBackAbility..

MATCH DAY 6
POPPLETON TIGERS Vs COPMANTHORPE
welcome to the long match report company, working in partnership with Poppleton Tigers and bringing you the events of Poppleton Tigers Vs Copmanthorpe down at millfield lane. ✍️
Even before the whistle, Copmanthorpe were playing mind games. Setting there warm up cones in the home teams end of the pitch, trying to upset Poppletons pre match preparations.
As the referee starts the match, both teams are really struggling to pass the ball and giving it away. Not the usual Poppleton standard at all.
The first bit of decent play comes from Poppleton as Charlie Bunce slips in a lovely weighted pass to the elusive Isaac Breckons who made a run from midfield and calmly side footed home.
Poppleton Tigers 1- Copmanthorpe 0
And a bit of decent football at last!!
As the game restarts, and returns to both teams giving the ball to each other and sometimes even straight out of play.
Soon after Poppleton put a cross into the box with Poppleton players attacking it with captain Jack Yates making the best effort, only for the Copmanthorpe keeper to punch it straight onto Jack Yates head and into the goal.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Copmanthorpe 0
Copmanthorpe reshuffle the formation and it seems to work as they bring it back, scoring a goal.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Copmanthorpe 1
And it was like Poppleton had gone to sleep.
As Copmanthorpe strike again making it.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Copmanthorpe 2
When you start slow like Poppleton today. It's hard to get out of it.
Copmanthorpe are in charge now, with Poppleton holding on for half time.
But out of the blue Poppleton midfield splits open Copmanthorpes defence for striker Charlie Bunce to get in behind and cleverly cut back, only for the Copmanthorpe player to hack him down.
Penalty to Poppleton!
With Liam Mahoney to take it. And scores to the goal keepers right bottom corner.
That takes Poppleton into the lead at half time.
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Copmanthorpe 2
Not the best half of football but still Poppleton will take that.
As the second half begins Poppleton start to knock the ball around and win a free kick and swung into the Copmanthorpe penalty area with Poppleton defender Max Jefferson attacking it and manages to get his head on it to cushion it down for Chaz Haigh to find the far corner to make it.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Copmanthorpe 2
Just as Poppleton look to take control then Copmanthorpe strike again.
Poppleton Tiger 4 - Copmanthorpe 3
It seems both teams still believe that they can win this, with Copmanthorpe leaving 3 players up front. But that can be very dangerous against a good passing side who can break so quickly.
And that's what happened. Poppleton win the ball back and play it into Kieran Wozniak who strides through midfield and then plays a pass into Chaz Haigh who was to quick for the defender and side foots it past the keeper.
Poppleton starting to get there game going now.
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Copmanthorpe 3
The game gets going again with Copmanthorpe starting to go long. Which is stretching the game and Poppleton take full control with Chaz Haigh played into the area, with defenders trying to close him down. He rolls it across the goal with strike partner Charlie Bunce to finish with ease.
Poppleton Tigers 6 - Copmanthorpe 3
It's all Poppleton now.
With another fine cross from a free kick by right back Elliot Jones which finds centre back Jack Yates whos bullet header goes just over the bar. What a goal that would of been!
Poppleton still going for more goals and win a corner and is swung in by the left foot of Kieran Wozniak with Liam Mahoney to flick it on only for the Copmanthorpe defender to block it on the line. And with centre back Jack Yates reacting first and scores and gets his second goal of the game ( should of been a hat trick 😀)
Poppleton Tigers 7 - Copmanthorpe 3
Poppleton are still not done. With there midfield in full control Kieran Wozniak once again into Chaz Haigh who does the Iniesta ( You tube it ) between two defenders and finishes past the Copmanthorpe keeper. Hat trick!
And another assist for Kieran Wozniak. He must have 50 assists already this season 👀🤣
Full time
Poppleton Tigers 8 - Copmanthorpe 3
It's hard to sum up this week because of how slow Poppleton had started. I can only take the positive that in the first half we was so poor but still managed to score 3 goals. But the second half was brilliant!
With the defence smothering every Copmanthorpe attack. Poppleton could really get hold of the game.
And as we say every week, we are in the entertainment business and that's what family and friends come to watch for.
Man Of The Match goes to Charlie Bunce, he was involved in everything good.
Goal and a assist 👏
Special mention Jack Yates, Chaz Haigh and Kieran Wozniak.
Up the tangers 🍊
MATCH DAY 5
Poppleton Tigers Vs Scarborough Athletic
In the first round of the county cup, Poppleton host Scarborough from the division above.
As they turn up in full Scarborough tracksuit looking the business.😎
Poppleton knew that there was a tuff game in-store.
And so it was to be that the game finished 0-0, not many chances by either team and not much to report!!........ I wish!!
Get comfy Poppy fans and get ready for this.
The whistle goes, and straight away Poppleton show their intent by going for it. Getting into their groove, Poppleton with some slick passing from midfield then released Cam Wakerley away down the right and beats his man and delivers a cross into the area with Chaz Haigh getting across his defender with a glanced header into the far corner and heads poppleton into the lead, Fantastic!
Poppleton Tigers 1- Scarborough Athletic 0
But as soon as Poppletons crowd had just stopped cheering, Scarborough had equalised with an instant response.
Poppleton Tigers 1- Scarborough Athletic 1
Scarborough now passing the ball about and soon made it
Poppleton Tigers 1- Scarborough Athletic 2.
Scarborough showing what good players and team they were.
Poppleton regaining some composure, start to play again and win a corner.
The ball swung in and cleared but only to the incoming Charlie Norville to hit one of his now trademark strikes from 25 yards. The keeper couldn't keep hold of it, spilled it and who was sniffing? Johnny on the spot Chaz Haigh to scoop the ball over the keeper then roll into the net.
Poppleton Tigers 2- Scarborough Athletic 2.
After some nice footwork Scarborough get a penalty, the referee gave it, but the Poppleton players were saying "he fell over his own feet!"
After it all calmed down, Scarborough take the lead again by scoring the peno.
Poppleton Tigers 2- Scarborough Athletic 3
As the game restarts, not long to go to half time, the ball gets crossed in from the right hand side and Chaz Haigh gets there first and a Scarborough defender catches the player and he goes down. PENALTY!!
So up steps Cam Wakerley and he scores, the keeper gets a hand to it but the power takes the ball in.
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Scarborough Athletic 3
Half time of a brilliant game.
The 2nd half begins with chances for both teams, with some missed and some saved.
But then Scarborough scored to make it
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Scarborough Athletic 4
And then again 5mins later.
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Scarborough Athletic 5.
That's it Poppleton look defeated..... Stop been daft!
Poppleton dug deep and started to attack again just like they did in the first half, with Liam Mahoney and Isaac Breckons pulling the strings.
With a nice move with Charlie Bunce putting Chaz Haigh through into the area, the defender held on to Chaz shirt just a bit to long for the refs liking and gives a penalty.
With the Scarborough players carrying on with the referee, Cam Wakerley stands and waits to take it.
Ball on the spot, he shoots, he scores.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Scarborough Athletic 5
Poppleton are on top with chances coming freely and it was the combination again of Charlie Bunce into Chaz Haigh, who drives into the Scarborough penalty area, then cuts it back behind the Scarborough defenders and arriving right on time was Cam Wakerley at the edge of the box and slams a low drive into the bottom corner.
And that's the hattrick for Cam.
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Scarborough Athletic 5
What a comeback!
And still with about 15mins to go.
But sometimes the football gods are not on your side.
Scarborough puts in a cross, and everyone misses it, then it hits a Poppleton player and wrong foots the goalkeeper and the ball rolls into Poppletons goal.
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Scarborough Athletic 6
And soon after Poppleton concede another unlucky goal as the ball was crossed in over everybody and dropped in at the back post.
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Scarborough Athletic 7
This Poppleton side didn't deserve this.
They had matched a very good Scarborough side. But now looked to be running out of steam. And right at the death, Scarborough got another penalty for a foul outside the box 🤣🤣.
But it was given and put away.
Full time whistle.
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Scarborough Athletic 8
The game between two good passing sides. With Scarborough just having a bit more experience than Poppleton. But to score 5 and also have chances to score 6 or 7 against one of the best teams in the under 19 age group. Proves what progress the Poppleton team is making.
Special mention for Cam Wakerley for his hattrick and Chaz Haigh, a constant menace and 2 more goals.
But this week's Man Of The Match goes to Isaac Breckons for his work rate and tackling. A player that is new to Poppleton, but is now finding his roll in the team.
Thanks Tangers fans 🍊

MATCH DAY 4
POPPLETON TIGERS Vs WIGGINTON GRASSHOPPERS
Match Day 4 brought the unbeaten Wigginton grasshoppers to the millfield lane ground in perfect conditions for football.
Poppletons build up to the game brought bad news as midfielder & captain Ben Smith has broken his foot and will be missing for some time.
But with a reshuffle Poppleton are confident, as you could tell straight from the kick off. With some passes getting knocked about and soon enough they got there reward.
As the ball is swung towards the back stick and headed back in to keep it alive, then Poppletons midfielder Cam Wakerley pounces and puts the ball into the roof of the net.
Poppleton Tigers 1 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 0
Another fast start!!!
Still Poppleton continued to pop the ball around, even trying to play out from a goal kick, with Wigginton pressing hard and intercepted a pass and punished Poppleton to make it
Poppleton Tigers 1 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 1
Soon things got worse after Wigginton was awarded a penalty and put it away to make it
Poppleton Tigers 1 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 2
Wigginton led for the first time in the game.
Poppleton have to chase the game and after some nice sharp football from midfield led the ball been slipped into the channel for Chaz Haigh to run into with defenders chasing only for the inform striker to back heel a pass to strike partner Charlie Bunce who made a lovely under lapping run to be one on one with Wiggintons goalkeeper and made no mistake putting it in the onion bag!!
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 2
Wigginton came again but Poppletons defence held strong with some great headed clearances from center back pairing Max Jefferson and Jack Yates.
Poppleton continued to play and test the Wigginton defence with left back Charlie (Norvz) Norville striking from a distance straight into the goalkeepers waiting arms.
Then out of the blue Wigginton was awarded a second penalty, which was slipped away nicely making it
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 3
Taking it to half time.
Poppleton are not a team for panicking.
As the second half begins Poppleton win a free kick in their own half, with Poppletons goalkeeper Charlie Wells taking it with a huge kick right into the mix only for the ball to continue into the goal.
The goalkeeper is on the score sheet!
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 3
Poppletons impressive 2nd half performance continued as Chaz Haigh was played in with the Wigginton defender to beat, then with a quick step over wrong footed the defender and finishing low and hard past the keeper.
Poppleton was back in front.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 3
With Poppleton well in control and some nice footwork allowed Poppletons midfielder Liam Mahoney to break from the centre circle and reaching the edge of the area, he had a shot which left the keeper with concrete boots. It struck the post (beans on toast) and into the goal!!
Poppleton Tigers 5 - Wigginton Grasshoppers 3
Full time.
Wigginton tasting defeat for the first time this season to an impressive Poppleton, that are slowly getting the reputation of being "The Entertainers" like Newcastle from the mid 90's.
A good team performance with special mentions for midfielder Isaac Breckons for his work rate in the centre of the park.
But this week's Man Of The Match goes to Liam Mahoney, absolutely fantastic all game, never gave the ball away and topped it off with a great goal.
And a special Thank You to Mr Bunce for stepping in to referee.👏
Up the tangers 🍊
MATCH DAY 3
BARMBY MOOR Vs POPPLETON TIGERS
Match Day 3 took Poppleton Tigers to Barmby Moor on a bobbly pitch and some terrible match balls. But the weather was spot on, as the misty rain began to fall just before kick off.
Then the referee blows the whistle to get the game started.
It was even stevens early doors, but soon after a few passes Poppletons Charlie Bunce with a slide pass with the outside of his boot straight into the path of Chaz Haigh to make it
1-0 to Poppleton
A nice finish , just slid down past the keeper into the open goal.
A great start!
But it didn't last long before Barmby Moor struck back, with all there play coming down the right hand side through Barmby Moors impressive winger, to make it
Poppleton Tigers 1- Barmby Moors 1
The young Poppleton side started to get back into it and won a free kick, dead centre and about 25years out.
Up stepped Chaz Haigh to unleash a rocket that went straight in to make it
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Barmby Moor 1
The tangerines were back in front.
But once again short lived as Barmby Moor scored to make it Desmond.
Poppleton Tigers 2 - Barmby Moor 2
More good work by Barmby Moors winger!
The Poppleton coaches knew the winger needed to be stopped and turned to left back Charlie Norville which turned out to be a master class on how to deal with tricky wingers.
Half time approaching, Poppleton get a corner swung in by Ben Smith. Barmby Moor cleared it to the edge of the box to the a waiting Elliot Jones to volley home. Superb!
Just like Scholes against Villa in 2006. (You tube it)
The quality of goals was top draw in a crazy match.
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Barmby Moor 2
The second half started with Poppleton playing all the football and Barmby Moor turning to long punts down field now that there main threat had been dealt with by Norvz.
With a kick down the pitch Barmby Moor picked up the second ball and to be fair the finish was right in the top bin and made it
Poppleton Tigers 3 - Barmby Moor 3
We go again, Poppleton midfielder Liam Mahoney spotted Kieran Wozniak in space on the left wing, then Kieran beats his man to deliver into the box with Ben Smith arriving right on time to side foot home.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Barmby Moor 3
Surely that must be it now??
Nope, soon after Barmby Moor get a free kick and equalise.
Poppleton Tigers 4 - Barmby Moor 4
And that's how it stayed.
Full time
Disappointing after leading 4 times but it's a point on the road as Poppleton adjust to the new physical league.
Man Of The Match goes to left back Charlie (Norvz) Norville for the attitude and fight needed to succeed in this league.👏
On to the next game, hopefully it will be 0-0 so I have less to write about in the match report 😅

Match Day 2
Poppleton Tigers Vs North Duffield Dragons
The first home game of the season at millfield lane against North Duffield, a repeat of last seasons cup final.
Duffield turned up with a new kit complete with "Dragons" across the shoulders. Really looking good.
As for Poppleton, the day didn't start the best with a key player reporting sick on the morning. A big miss but a chance for someone else to show what they can do.
Straight from the whistle Duffield were at it and won a free kick in a dangerous area. The ball was floated in and was one of them free kicks that missed the crowd of players and straight over the Poppleton goalkeeper!!
1-0 Down.
Not the start Poppleton wanted. But it soon went from bad to worse as a mix up in the Poppletons defence allowed Duffield in again to make it.
2-0 Down
This was a disaster of a start to be 2-0 down within 15mins.
A quick reshuffle brought abit of hope with left back Kieran Wozniak leading the charge with a lovely pass arched round the Duffield defence for Poppleton striker Chaz Haigh only to get his finish wrong.
But not to be denied the same pair linked up again with the same pass. But this time the Poppleton striker finishing it past the keeper.
2-1 Duffield
Poppleton was back in it!
As half time approaches Poppleton fell to sleep and a Duffield player managed to get a header at the back stick.
3-1 Duffield
This was not going to be Poppletons day, as more players having to come off due to injury.
As the game went on Duffield added a 4th then a 5th.
Final whistle Poppleton 1 - North Duffield 5.
Poppleton had ran out of steam and to be honest it could of been alot worse, if not go some nice saves from Poppletons goalkeeper Charlie Wells.
A bad day at the office, Poppleton will brush themselfs down and go again.
No man of the match this week 😁
But a special mention for Isaac Breckons and Alex Dowson who both impressed on there debut.
Tangerines bruised but still edible 🍊
F1 RACING U19s Vs POPPLETON TIGERS U19s
MATCH REPORT
A sunny afternoon at the home of F1 racing at new earswick sports club and played on a fantastic pitch.
Straight from kick off F1 were on the front foot with early pressure playing some nice stuff!
But the young poppleton side stood strong. Once poppy started to settle and find there feet in the game, it wasn't long before a slick move created a chance with Bunce jr clean through. Only for F1s goal keeper to deny him with a good save.
Then poppy took the lead from a deep free kick taken by Elliot Jones with Cam Wakerley tapping home! 1-0
F1 then rallied again but there was always an orange shirt in the way.
Then another fine pass sent Chaz Haigh away, only for the defender to bring him down.... PENALTY!
2-0 Cam Wakerley from the spot.
F1 were now giving everything only to be stopped by the impressive Charlie Wells in the sticks.
With 15 minutes to go F1 scored making it 2-1.
But there was no panic after Elliott Jones once again with the assist across the goal for Chaz Haigh to tap it home!! 3-1
A well deserved man of the match Jack Yates.
And a fine team performance.
3 points for the Tangerine Army!!
