Hey Karatekas!

Welcome back to Uni in term 3! The club will be training with Sensei McCartney (Rob) at his club York Elite during the first two weeks of term since many people will be preoccupied with exams. If you are around and want to train come down to York Elite Karate if you need any info please get in touch. The University club will be back together in week 3!

Hey Karatekas don’t forget tomorrow (Tuesday) is our photo day so get down to the sports centre at 12 noon to be immortalised in a photograph! Bring your gi!

Just a reminder if you have not seen the Instagram story. Todays session is not on. But if you want to train Sensei Robs club is training at the York RI

Hey Karatekas Bucs is rapidly approaching (12 March) if you are einteretsing in competing in Kata or kumite whether you are a novice or senior please get in touch and we will get you entered!

Hey Karatekas don’t forget Monday is our first session back so get you and your gi down to the sports arena from 7-9pm and dust off the Christmas dust. See you all there!

Remember Karatekas, the Bus for the grading leaves at 9:10 from station road. It is the number 10 and we are going to Manor school in nether poppleton

Hey, Karatekas please remember that if you are grading you *must* attend the session tonight to make sure you are up to standard for Grading and can provide payment and proof of license to the captain ready for Sunday. Also bear in mind the need for a Karategi for the grading too.

A reminder. Can all Karatekas wanting to grade inform the club through email or message ASAP. If you do not tell us you will not be allowed to grade. You need a KUGB license to grade and the grading itself is £20 which needs to be paid in cash ASAP. You will also need a gi. The Club has no gis left to give do purchase one through Amazon or a retailer like Blitz, Arawaza, Kamae, Fuji

Don’t forget our spooky session tonight. Feel free to come in costume if you do and it is particularly dazzling to the President and Captain you’ll find yourself with a fancy new Gi ordered just for you!

Hey Karatekas! If you didn't get a chance to come and see us at Freshers fair please send us your Uni email so we can add you to our mailing list. This includes Members from previous years we have swapped our provider over so we no longer have access to our old list so please remind us!

Training times are as follows!

Mondays: 19:00-21:00 (Arena 2)
Thursdays: 20:00-22:00 (Arena 1)
Saturday: 11:00-13:00 (Arena 1)

The first session is Monday 4th October in Arena 2 of the Sports Arena!

If you are unaware the Arena is the big building behind the sports centre that is a little dome shaped. Don't forget to come and see us at Freshers Fair as well!
