Friends of New Earswick Swimming Pool.

The pool has reopened. Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.

We're sorry that the pool has been closed this weekend.

On Saturday afternoon our gas alarms started going off. We called the emergency gas number and they came down and diagnosed a possible carbon monoxide leak in the plant room so we immediately closed the pool and switched off our boilers and gas supply. The plant room is sealed off from the pool and there was no danger to swimmers.

The company who service our boilers should be on site tomorrow morning to do checks and hopefully diagnose and fix the cause.

We're closed tomorrow morning but will post on here about Monday evening/Tuesday sessions. The various groups who hire the pool have been informed of the situation.

**Message for anyone visiting the pool today**.

Its New Earswick 'Party By The Park' today 12-3pm, so we expect the car park outside of the pool to be very busy after 10am.

Don't forget that the 1, 13, 14 & 20 buses have a bus stop 100m away from the pool and we have bike racks outside the pool for anyone considering alternative forms of transport.

A reminder that tomorrow is the New Earswick Party By The Park where we will have a stall. Please do visit us and take part in our tombola or "buy-a-tile".

If you've ever wanted to give juggling a go or dreamed of joining the circus (even just for a day!), Party by the Park is bringing a lively circus-themed family fun day to New Earswick.

There's something for everyone to enjoy, including hands-on circus activities, stunning aerial performances, live music, and-of course-it wouldn't be Party by the Park without FREE face painting!

Sweaty body alert!!

With this hot weather it means we have lots of sweaty bodies entering the pool with deodorants, sun creams, after sun etc. That's bad news for pool water quality.

But there's something that each swimmer can do to help. If your visiting the pool then remember our rule....⬇️
