Heworth Cricket Club (HCC)

Congratulations to the winners of the reverse raffle Saturday! Lots of money raised for the club and some very lucky winners after some less than successful results across the weekend.

Big thanks to all the organisers and everyone who bought a ticket!

Unfortunately there was only 1 win out of 5 this week where the 2s managed to sn**ch victory from the jaws of defeat at Ovington. The other big highlight on the cricket side of things was seeing yet another junior making their debut for the club. What a better place to do it than at . What made it eve better was that young Alex took 3fer! Stay tuned for a round up of our recent reverse raffle! We go again next week.

Here is how our 5 teams line up this weekend, go well lads!

Results!

Unfortunately this week only saw 2/5 wins for the club, with the 1XI restricting Clifton to 156 thanks to Rich Walton taking 3/40 and then Amod Karunaratne with an unbeaten half century.

The 2XI hosted Nawton Grange and took 10 points away from the game thanks to Ollie Foster 3/46 and the skipper Chris Klays hitting an unbeaten 87*.

Unfortunately the 3XI picked up their first loss of the season but still had standout performances with the bat from Tom Grant and Henry Jackson, both reaching a half century.

The 4XI had a close game getting 182 thanks to Ollie Grant getting 47 but they were unlucky to not defend the score despite Jamie Ross 3/30.

The 5XI also unfortunately were defeated in a defence of 196 thanks to Steve Sissons 68 and Paul Whitely 52. Unfortunately New Earswick chased this despite efforts from Dean Smallwood and Michael Ash-Mcmahan both picking up a wicket.

The 4s and 5s in action today where the 4s travel to Sheriff Hutton Bridge and the 5ths take on New Earswick at home! Good luck!

Bank Holiday Weekend saw our 1s take away 20 points after claiming two victories with standout performances from Dan Walton, Rich Walton and in both games with bat and ball, Harry Hauenstein!

Our 2s unfortunately walk away with 2 defeats but picked up 4 points on Monday after taking 9 wickets in a nail biting finish! Standout performances from Will Etty with the bat on Saturday and the ball on Monday. Olly Mair claimed the only wicket Saturday while Drew Patel got some crucial late runs on Monday!

The 3s take 10 points away from the weekend with a neck and neck game against Crayke, beating them by 7 runs in the final over! Standout performances go to Kavija with some crucial runs and Jamie Ross claiming more wickets to add to his tally.
