KIRKBYMOORSIDE 55 (6)v(2) 32 STRENSALL
League leaders Strensall were the visitors and having not lost a match this season Kirkby were expecting a tough encounter. As it turned out Kirkby took the match 6 – 2 and were unfortunate not to take all 8 points. Team Lawry (Pat Lawry, Shirley Wakefield and Gail Allan) were trailing 3-9 at the half way mark but true to form turned the game on its head and took the rink 22-12. Team Allan (Simon Allan, Reg Richmond and Martyn Smith) won their match 22-4 but nearly every end was close and came down to 1 or 2 shots. Team Bardon (Keith Bardon, Doreen Bardon and Graham Barker) had a very close match throughout and were level pe***ng at 9-9 up to the 13th end when Strensall scored a couple of 3’s in the final 5 ends to take the rink 16-11. This was Kirkby’s 7th win in a row and leaves us level on 47 points at the top of the league and 2nd on shots difference with Malton.
