And thatβs a wrap for the season! πβ¨ And what a way to end! Last night we were treated to clear skies and stunning views of a glowing moon π, the major constellations β, and a brilliantly bright Jupiter πͺ. It was a beautiful reminder of just how vast and awe-inspiring the cosmos really is.
We wandered gently through ancient rock formations, paused beneath a blanket of stars β, soaked in the quiet magic all around us, and even learned how to navigate in the dark using nothing but our natural night vision π.
Truly magical. π«

So this is where Iβve been the last 6 months. Working on this awesome pilot project for the North York Moors National Park Trust
Called The Natural Health Service for North Yorkshire, Iβve worked with the most amazing people and partners. Together weβve turned the programme around super quickly - and seen incredible results.
It warms the cockles of my heart knowing that this work matters.

Come cloudy or clear, these gatherings are always soothing for the soul β and last night was no exception β¨
Through the clag we were treated to a fleeting glimpse of mighty Jupiter, alongside the twin stars Castor and Pollux. Brief, yes β but no less special.
We wandered gently amongst ancient rock formations, sampled the magic of life up close, learned how to walk confidently in the dark using only our night vision, and truly tuned into our senses. When we slow down and soften our focus, thereβs so much more to experience.
Put simplyβ¦ it was magical. π
There are just two more events left this season and theyβre filling quickly. If youβve been meaning to join us, nowβs the time.

Did you miss it too?? There is hope!!
MISSED THE NORTHERN LIGHTS DUE TO THE WEATHER? SO DID WE π©
Donβt worry β another chance could be closer than you think.
The recent solar storm was triggered by a perfect storm of solar activity:
βοΈ a powerful solar flare
βοΈ a huge Earth-directed eruption from a large sunspot group
βοΈ and a vast coronal hole β a gap in the Sunβs atmosphere where faster solar wind escapes (highlighted in orange in our graphic).
As long as features like these are present on the Sun and facing Earth, the chances of strong solar storms β and aurora visible much further south β remain high.
Right now, sunspots are common thanks to the Sun being near peak activity. Coronal holes are often long-lived too, sometimes lasting for months.
Because the Sun is made of gas, it doesnβt rotate evenly. It spins faster at the equator (about 25 Earth days) than at the poles (around 30 days). That means this same coronal hole is likely to rotate back into an Earth-facing position in roughly 30 days β potentially around early March. New sunspot groups could also develop by then.
So while nothing is guaranteed, the coming weeks β and especially about a month from now β are well worth watching π
Weβll be keeping a close eye on things, so follow our page for updates. You can also check the Sunβs live activity via NASAβs Solar Dynamics Observatory website and watch for this coronal hole reappearing on the Sunβs limb first week of March.
π€ Fingers crossed β and hereβs hoping for clear skies!
