🙋‍♀️Exciting news for Women’s Cricket!🙋‍♀️

On Sunday 23rd August we will be hosting a Women’s and Girls 6-a-side tournament for other local villages down at Alne CC.

The format is very simple and accommodates all abilities. 3-4 short games per team.

We are really keen to enter a team, made up of 6 or more.

❗️🏏Update on Our 2nd Team 🏏❗️

As we enter the final month of the season, we thought it would be useful to provide an update on our 2nd team.

Unfortunately we had to withdraw the team from division 5 earlier in the season due to a lack of availability of players.

As we look ahead to the 2027 season we are committed to enter a 2nd team into Division 8 of the nidderdale league. Having a 2nd team is vital to ensure our thriving junior system have a clear pathway into senior cricket. With such a strong junior system we need to make sure we give these children the best opportunity at our club as possible.

To make sure this is successful as possible, we need your support. We are starting now to build player numbers and we are hoping more villagers / locals will join us and help rebuild the team.

👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻 Parents why not come and play with your kids on a Saturday if they are aged 12 or older?

👴🏼Played in the past? Why not dust off the old gear now ready for a net over winter to get your eye in ready for April 2027.

🤝Not played before? Not a problem. This team will be focused on encouraging all abilities. The club can provide kit if needed and we always enjoy a drink after the game!

Big shout out to Duncan on his maiden 1st team 50 today, hitting 81 against Goldsborough. Although we lost, bowled out for 200 chasing 272, every cloud has a silver lining!! It took Duncan 23 years (since making his debut) and 81 balls today to reach this feat, well done Dunc 👊🏼
