Coaching for children U7 to U16. Our sessions aim to promote the great game of Futsal!

05/05/2026

After what seems like an eternity, we have finally been confirmed as National Futsal Series Women’s Super Series Tier 2 National Champions.

It’s hard to put into words what this means.

From our very first season, finishing with a -97 goal difference, and only 1 win, we were written off by many, but we never stopped believing. Through every setback, every tough session, every defeat, we kept going. Hard work, commitment, sacrifice, pure bloody-mindedness, and belief in each other have brought us here.

This season has been long, demanding, and emotional. But right from the start, we genuinely believed we could do something special. To actually go and do it is something I will carry forever. With no funding, no shortcuts, just players and a club giving absolutely everything they had… it makes this moment even more meaningful.

I am beyond proud of this group.

To my incredible squad — Suzy, Katie, Kim, Charlotte, Ellie, Jess, Elisabeth, Heather, Erin, Hannah, Jess, Natasha, Nikki, Ruby, Allegra, Steph and Jodie — you are not just champions, you are something far greater than that. You’ve shown heart, unity, resilience, and belief when it mattered most. I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you. Jodie and Liz, we couldn’t find you on any photos from this season…sorry!

And to the parents, coaches, and volunteers — especially Tyler, Derek and Paul — thank you from the bottom of my heart. The lifts, the support, the time, the effort behind the scenes… none of this happens without you. This is your moment too.
I am incredibly humbled, and so proud to be your coach.

Coach Chris

With the Futsal Euros '26 underway in Latvia/Lithuania/Slovenia, we are seeing many tight and exciting games (on UEFA TV) as the “smaller” nations push the established big hitters in close fought group matches, evidence of the growth of Futsal and the increasing levels in several countries such as Belgium, Hungary and Czechia. We still have a lot of catching up to do, but getting kids out of the rain and into Futsal is our aim at Sambarca Futsal. It’s where you get 600% more touches of the ball, learn to attack and defend in equal measure and have fun scoring goal after goal. As a special Euro ‘26 promotion we are offering three free sessions to anyone joining us this term. We have a few places available: U7/8s to U15/16s, all sessions indoor on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Better Burnholme and the LNER Stadium. To get into Futsal contact us via FB, E-mail or on 07906 964202.

We see a lot of football posts like this one from Tuchel etc, and it speaks of something that we have been practicing at Sambarca since day one. Our sessions are match based, full court, 5v5 futsal with conditions to add complexity. Of course everyone attacks and everyone defends - that’s futsal - and out of the complex (some might see chaos) players learn to find the best solution to changing situations anywhere on court. From 1v1s in different areas of the court to dealing with overloads in attack and defence, the challenges are always there, under pressure and demanding quick thinking. If you want to learn more and have fun doing it, get into Futsal! We only have a few spaces left for this term, contact us via FB, email or on 07906 964202.

Futsal creates players who are comfortable with the ball, it speeds up their decision making and gives them numerous opportunities to practice passing, dribbling, turning, shielding, ball control and shooting.
We have a few spaces for the new term starting January 7th. Contact us via FB, email or on 07906964202 for a free taster session.

As 2025 draws to a close it is a good time to reflect on the year and look forward to the next, the Futsal in all sessions has shown great improvements; faster and more technical, intense and more tactical. The players are learning that techniques such as controlling with the sole and shooting with the toe-poke are intelligent choices to gain advantages on the court - the decision making becoming ever more tactical/technical rather than one or the other. We have had an average of 120/128 spaces filled this year from U7 to U16, to get involved contact us via FB or on 07906964202. Still unsure of the advantages of playing Futsal? below are 25 reasons, looking forward to seeing you in 2026.

Core Developmental Areas Enhanced by Futsal:

1. Ball mastery and first touch: Faster improvement rate than traditional soccer training
2. Decision-making speed: Players process information faster in high-pressure situations
3. Passing accuracy under pressure: Improvement in tight-space distribution
4. Defensive positioning: Better anticipation of opponent movements
5. Creativity index: More solution-oriented thinking in attacking scenarios
6. 2v1 attacking patterns: Learning when to pass versus when to take on the defender
7. 1v2 defensive scenarios: Body positioning to deny passing lanes while staying goal-side
8. 3v2 transitions: Reading when to press aggressively versus dropping into defensive shape
9. Rotation principles: Understanding when to swap positions to create numerical advantages
10. Faster recognition of open space and passing lanes
11. Improved ability to scan surroundings before receiving the ball
12. Better anticipation of opponent movements
13. Enhanced peripheral vision utilization
14. Quicker transitions between offensive and defensive mindsets
15. Body positioning to deny passes: Cutting off multiple passing lanes with one positioning choice
16. Pressing triggers: Recognizing when to apply pressure versus when to hold shape
17. Recovery runs: Efficient paths to goal-side positioning after being beaten
18. Communication: Constant verbal direction becomes essential for defensive organization
19. Transition defending: Immediate pressure upon losing possession
20. Futsal players use far more varied passing angles
21. Body feints before passing: x4 times more frequent in futsal
22. Passing surface variety: Futsal incorporates more surfaces than typical youth soccer
23. One-touch passing frequency: 68% of Futsal passes vs. 31% in soccer
24. Passing intelligence: 89% of Futsal players comfortable passing under pressure vs. 43% of soccer players
25. Oh... and it’s much more fun.
