The YDAA offers a wide variety of coarse and game angling in and around York. So if your passion is fishing for carp, roach or salmon, we have it covered.
Welcome to the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers page. We have access to twenty stretches of prime Yorkshire river fishing on the Yorkshire Ouse, Derwent, Nidd, Foss, Rye and Seven; Pocklington, and Selby Canals; 11 miles of fishing on the Aire and Calder Canal and seven stillwaters, each with its own individual character. So, whatever type of fishing appeals you will find a water that will satisfy your needs.

Rawcliffe Lake - A few reminders
Reports are coming of extensive litter being left on this venue, especially around the “point”, being mainly crisp packets, other food packets and bags containing fish bait. It must be borne in mind that this Lake is in the middle of a housing estate and actions such as leaving litter, do nothing to enhance the neighbourhood. It is also reported that other abuse of the area includes indications of fires, partying and trespass into the ‘nature areas. Whilst the majority of this may not be down solely to the anglers, it is a well-known public dog walking place.
Further to the above, complaints have been received from a local resident and a York City Council official regarding improper use of the lake, including camping, night fishing, lighting fires and dumping of rubbish in the “nature areas”, including using them for toilet facilities. Any instances of this sort of behaviour should be reported to an Amalgamation official currently, so that action against the perpetrators may be taken.
Anglers, keep your litter to yourself and take it home for proper disposal.
A reminder of the conditions laid down by CoYC for the fishing. No match fishing, No ground bait, No keepnets,
NO NIGHT FISHING, No fishing between 22:00 and 07:00 hours, Rods limited to 2 per angler, hooks to be barbless or micro-barbed. The Nature Areas are out of bounds to all anglers and finally NO LITTER!

Litter....or absence there of!
Officials visiting our ponds are reporting very little sightings of litter. Members are to be commended on their co-operation in getting rid of this problem, and removing it when they leave the fishing venue. Keep up the good work, hopefully transferring it to the rivers when they ‘open’ again.
Sand Hutton Gravel pits are back open.
Please note
NO KEEPNETS
ANY PERSON NOT CLOSING ANY GATE OR INTERFERRING WITH THE FENCE WILL FACE A LIFETIME BAN.
Do not take the bird wires down.
Please keep away form the nesting birds they will have gone in a few days.
No fishing from the west bank of the main pond.
Fish only from the dugout swims, which we will be completing when we can.
CCTV is in operation.
The trustees wish to thank all the guys who put the effort and hard work in to regenerate this pond.
