Our programme is designed to develop children’s physical, cognitive and social skills.

Physical development is not defined by the equipment a child uses, but by how their ability to use it evolves over time.
In our sessions, the same apparatus is introduced across different age groups, with children engaging in it in ways that reflect their stage of development. Younger children focus on building confidence and basic coordination, while older children begin to explore more advanced movement patterns and problem solving through physical challenge.

This progression shows how skills develop through repetition, familiarity and increasing complexity over time.

The moment they discover they can climb everything.

One day they are walking. The next, everything becomes a potential climbing frame.

While it might look like chaos at home, this stage is an important part of developing strength, coordination and confidence through movement and exploration.

Book a session or find your nearest Tumble Tots centre to support your child’s development through structured physical play.

Confidence is built gradually through repeated positive experiences.

At Tumble Tots, every child responds differently when they begin. Some need time to observe and feel comfortable in the environment, while others are ready to join in from the start. With the right balance of encouragement, support and space, children begin to develop trust in themselves and their abilities.

Over time, these small steps lead to meaningful change. What once felt unfamiliar becomes part of their routine, and confidence begins to grow naturally through participation.

This transformation is often subtle at first but becomes clear as children continue to attend week by week.

Walking is often seen as the point where development becomes more established, but in reality it is one of the most important transition stages in early childhood.

This is the moment where movement shifts from being supported to being independent. Children begin to explore their abilities more intentionally, testing balance, coordination and control through everyday movement.

These experiences form the foundation for how confidence and physical capability develop in the stages that follow.

Our Walking to 2 Years class is designed to support children during this key period of rapid growth, providing structured movement opportunities that match their stage of development and help build essential physical skills over time.

Joining us for your first Tumble Tots session?

To help your child feel comfortable and ready to explore, we recommend:
🟡Comfortable clothing suitable for movement
🔵 Bare feet for grip and balance on equipment
🟠 A drink for after the session
🟢 Arriving ready to explore at your child’s own pace

Every child responds differently in a new environment. Some are eager to try everything straight away, while others prefer to watch before joining in.

That is all part of the process, and our sessions are designed to support children as they build confidence over time.

Starting the 3 years to school age class marks an important step in a child’s development.

At this stage, children begin to take on more independence within sessions, build greater control in their movement and engage more confidently with structured activities.

It is not just a new class. It is a progression into the next stage of their development journey.

Across the Tumble Tots network, we love to see children make this transition, each one building on what they have already achieved and moving forward at their own pace.

Tumble Tots will be attending TOTFest Yorkshire at Wetherby Racecourse on 17th May.

A full day designed for little ones means plenty of movement, excitement and very tired toddlers by the end of it.

If you are attending this year, make sure to come and find the Tumble Tots team during the event.

Rolling is an important part of early physical development.

Through movements like this, children begin developing vestibular awareness, coordination and balance while also building confidence in how they move and control their body.

What often starts as uncertainty gradually becomes familiarity through repetition, guidance and structured movement experiences.

Across Tumble Tots sessions, these moments may appear simple, but they represent important stages in a child’s growing confidence and physical development over time.

Development does not begin when children take their first steps.

Before walking, children are already building important physical foundations through movement, exploration and sensory experiences.

The Tumble Tots 6 Months to Walking class is designed to support this stage of development through carefully structured activities that encourage balance, coordination, body awareness and early physical confidence.

These early movement experiences help lay the groundwork for future stages of development across the wider Tumble Tots programme.

Understanding the importance of this stage helps parents see that development is already well underway long before independent walking begins.
