Match report | Loss 13-9
The boys turned up and begun a short warmup while gill saved shots from all angles and then came up with our new name, Class On Artificial Grass. He wasn’t quite the same however when it came to the match getting beaten by 2 early on. Big Harry Colville stepped up twice to get the lads level though and then put us ahead to make it 3-2. Considering we didn’t actually know the rules yet we did quite well. Goals begin to fly in more freely and it half time we were 3 down. A quick breather to slow the heart rate down from 300 and we restarted, with stamina already coming into play. We scored a few, with Euan, Harvey and Yxng C showing their tekkers but so did they, with the gap increasing slightly perhaps towards them. But then the boys showed why they are called class on artificial grass and put in a few in quick succession, narrowing the gap. It all changed though when True Geordie came outfield to showcase his flair and raw strength, muscling off the likes of Fred and Kier and completely put the advantage back to them and to secure them the dub. We showed promise however in our first game with some great passing football, it could be described as like Bielsa ball, but it was not enough this week against a strong team who are sitting at 4th in the league out of 10.
