🚨 Travel Update for Today’s YRAD Showcase Audience 🚨

If you’re coming to watch one of today’s performances at Queen Ethelburga’s, please allow extra travel time.
The A59 between the A1237 York Outer Ring Road and the York boundary near Moor Monkton is closed today (7:00am–5:00pm) due to roadworks, so if you’re travelling from York you’ll need to follow the diversion or choose an alternative route.

Sunday was our dress run and I honestly don’t think I was prepared for how emotional it would be.

I’ve not been able to see dances other than my own in the rehearsal stage, but know our amazing teaching team work so hard with their classes - so Sunday was the first time I’d seen many of the routines performed.

I laughed, I smiled, and yes... I cried (probably too much, but they’re just so talented!).

Watching all of our dancers, from our youngest performers to our seniors, filled me with so much pride. The standard is incredible, but more than that, the joy, confidence and teamwork on display was everything YRAD is about.

I left feeling, well exhausted, but genuinely excited for our audiences to see this show.

If you’re thinking about coming, please do. I can honestly say it’s going to be a fantastic show and our dancers deserve a full audience cheering them on.

Could you help us?

We are looking for 3 extra chaperones / runners for our show on Sunday 28th June, approximately from 4:00pm–9:15pm @ King’s Theatre, Queen Ethleburgas Colliegiate (close to York & Harrogate)

We’re looking for anyone who already holds a current Chaperone Licence, or someone with a current DBS who may be able to support us.

This could be a YRAD family member, a friend of the school, or someone with relevant experience supporting young people at events or performances. (Dance teacher / school teacher / chaperone from another organisation etc)

If you may be able to help, or know someone who could, please get in touch as soon as possible.

We will be so grateful for anyone who can help us on our final performance, as we may otherwise have to cancel this last one 😞
