Weekend Teams - All three teams in action! 🦊🏏

On a fantastic run of 3 wins in a row, our first team kick things off by welcoming Fairburn to ACG, with a few changes to last week’s side.
The featured player this week is NSW’s finest, Charlie Gray. Charlie has made a big impact this season, scoring over 400 runs for the club.
The second team make the short trip to Clifton Alliance to face the other second XI in Championship Central. With a team that looks stacked with bowlers, it might well be time for others to step up with the bat!
Our featured is another who seems to be enjoying himself being away from home. Curtis has been a welcome addition to the second team both on and off the pitch.
Both Charlie and Curtis are sponsored by the fantastic The Crooked Tap - Acomb. They do an amazing job replenishing the thirst of the Acomb community with their Beers, Ales & most important live music nights. Thanks for everything, guys!
Still unbeaten, the 3s head across town to Heworth on Sunday, again with a familiar looking side.
Featured player is all-rounder and second team scorer Jack Delves. Jack is sponsored by &RS Custom and Retrofits, who specialise in premium vehicle enhancements and bespoke retrofit solutions for private clients and dealerships.
Matchball sponsors this week are the lovely Martin and Lynne Fletcher. Really appreciate the support both.
Bar open from 1pm tomorrow, get down and support the lads 🦊 💙💛

1sts made its 3 in a row with a win against York. Skipper won the toss and it was pretty clear early on this wasn't a wicket for batting. We bowled York out for 91 with an outstanding spell from Dan Watkinson (C&J Buyers) and Darcy O'Connor quickly dispatching the tail. A quick roll of the wicket must have helped the skipper Matty Dale ( The Knapton Lion Pub & Restaurant )as he made the only real contribution in the chase with 34 as we knocked it off with 4 wickets to spare.
The second team took on Selby on what looked like being a soggy day at the ACG. We batted first again and set a very respectable 236 thanks mainly to Curtis The Crooked Tap - Acomb (79) and Leon Sacks (Back to Me Therapies) (75) Ernest returned to the fold for the first time this season and scored enough to move past Joe Dale into 10th place on the all time club run scorers list.
Selby came after us from the first over and despite another 2 wickets from Isaac Tute ( Empire Security ), were solid throughout the lineup to knock off our total with around 5 overs to spare.
The main event of the day got going afterwards with Pep (ably accompanied by a number of support acts) played a number of BANGERS on his guitar until late into the night. ACC was on fire 🎸🔥 🦊🍺
On Sunday the continued their winning run. Winning the toss at the ACG they elected to bat.
Jack Bennett All Out Cricket Coaching got his 2nd 3rd team 100 with a well paced innings going through the gears nicely after hitting his 50 - the only other score above 25 was 27 by Zac Larkman on debut. We reached 205, a competive score. 8 bowlers were used with good spells from all the senior and junior bowlers Fin Hunter and Jack B taking 2 a piece supported by some excellent catching - Noah again contributing well behind the stumps saving us plenty of runs. Special mention to Zac Larkman on senior debut who adds to the side with bat and ball with a brilliant all round performance. This takes us top of the table now after 4 wins and 1 rained off.
PoM honours going to Watko Saggy and Jack B🦊🏏

A 30 point weekend for the first time this season as all 3 teams win!
The 1st team took down Patrington at home, another strong performance with the ball gave the batters little work to do with spin duo Darcy O'Connor 4-33 and Charlie Gray 3-32 ripping through the Patrington line-up.
We had a bit of a wobble with the bat after losing early wickets but the Skipper Matty Dale (The Knapton Lion Pub & Restaurant) guided us to victory with 65 not out supported extremely well by Vice Captain Joe Schofield who chipped in with a very important 27 not out.
The 2nd team visited North Cave for the first time this Saturday, and came away with a comfortable victory. The NCCE skipper won the toss and surprised everyone by choosing to bowl first. We were in a spot of bother at 30-2 but Saggy & Bradders assisted the skipper on a colossal rebuild that got us past the 300 mark. Tutey Andy Tute (HB Architectural Services Ltd) played a reserved knock to get to 3 figures and then opened up - eventually being out stumped for 167.
The reply was muted, Isaac was the pick of the bowlers bagging 3 wkts. Dooley, Robby, and Curtis all got 2 a piece to seal a win by 181 runs. Selby at home next week.
Our 3rds kept up their 100% record with a convincing win vs Selby in quick time. Youngsters Jack Delves and Fin Hunter (Joe Halstead) got 2 wickets each as we blowed them out for under 100. Fin capped his MOM performance with 29 in the chase, well supported by JB’s 21.
