Our unbeaten pre-season continues, this time with a big win against Bishop Wilton.

We move onto Wednesday evening where we play our opening game of the Pock cup against Barmby Moor FC, 6.30pm KO at The Balk Pocklington ⚽️

Another 90 mins in the tank and a positive result against last season's div 2 champs ⚽️

A hard fought pre season win against Rawcliffe on Saturday, we head to Cliffe FC this coming Saturday to get more pre season minutes in the tank ⚽️

Foss kicked off their pre season yesterday as we entertained newly formed YRK Fc and came out on top in a one sided game. Best of luck to YRK for the coming season.

Great to see Spiv and Webbo scoring on their returns and Alex C on his first game for the club, although Webbo already has miss of the season wrapped up.

💥 IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN 💥

We kick off preseason matches today by hosting new setup YRK at our Storking Lane home, 2pm kick off. We follow this up with a fixture every Saturday through until mid-August.

We're actively recruiting players for next season, anyone interested please contact our new gaffer Alex on 07528622029.

Training for the next few weeks will be Wednesday evenings 7-8.30pm at our home ground YO41 5AB

** LAVERACK LEAVES FOSS AFTER 18 YEARS **

Yesterday saw the final act for Dave Laverack as manager after 6 years running our 1st team and a total of 18 years at the club after he played for us since the age of 16 in the senior set-up!

A massive thank you to him for all his time and effort that he has put in over the years at the club keeping the senior team running week to week and organising the lads for games, socials, trips away and a number of other jobs! He will be missed around the club but has left the club in a miles better position than when he took it over!

Dave Laverack - This club means a lot to me and will be a big miss next season with it being the first year in 18 years I haven’t been part of the club but I know this group of players at the club have got everything it takes to go and make next season a success alongside the youth teams coming through over the next couple of seasons to strength the club back to 2 teams again!

We wish him every success with Harrogate Town Academy next season and his move up north! Don’t be a stranger!

** FOSS END OF SEASON AWARDS **

The lads finally got together yesterday to celebrate the 25/26 season and those who had performed the best throughout the year! It was a good day held at our clubhouse and a good turn out by the lads after a frustrating season! The winners are below and congratulations to them all - fully deserved all round!

** SEASON REVIEW 2025/2026 **

As the final games of the season happened yesterday our season came to a close on what was a very progressive season for the club. We looked at the back end of last year like this season could be a struggle with players and commitment but we managed to recruit well as a club and put out squads of 14+ most weeks!

We finished the season with more than double the amount of wins to losses and at times looked like we could push for promotion but it wasn’t to be. To look at the table and see a team with only 2 losses in 24 games not get promoted just shows the quality that the top 4 teams produced over the course of the season with all averaging over 2 points a game. Any other season and our return would have been more than enough. We have to dust ourselves down and re-group as a club and look to go for the lot next season.

We wish Cliffe and Hampsthwaite the best of luck next season in Division One as we welcome Bishopthorpe and Watergate down from that division!

Also welcome Sporting Knavesmire back to our division after promotion from the league below alongside new side Brayton.

This does mean we say goodbye to Copmanthorpe and Barmby Moor who couldn’t get a win in the last few games to stay up and best of luck in the lowest division next season.

We wave goodbye to our manager Dave Laverack this season also as he moves on to new ventures and hoping to announce a new manager shortly to take the club on.

Thanks to all the clubs we have competed against this season and look forward to doing it all again in September.

We now focus on our presentation in a few weeks to celebrate the lads for this season!

** 2025-2026 SEASON…DONE **

We had nothing to play for with 4th guaranteed no matter what and our opponents knew a positive result could see them promoted and it showed in the first 25 mins as they raced into a 3-0 lead.

After that we controlled the game and came close before HT to narrow the deficit but some good saves and the post kept us out. 2nd half we came out the better once again and finally got our goal when Ben Neaves poor first touch landed at Jamie Gillies’ feet who turned and fired top corner from 25 yards.

Hampsthwaite started to panic asking ‘what the score was’ and ‘how long is left’ 👀 with 20 mins to play though a mistake at the back allowed them a tap in to seal the game and all 3 points.

They went on to get a couple more with us also getting another goal through Jamie Gillies who took his total for the season 34 goals!

Today was mainly about finishing our season and enjoying a few beers after the game which we are all well on the way to doing now in York! 🍻

Let’s see if Hampsthwaite actually post this result after ‘missing’ the reverse fixture off their social! 👀😂

On a serious note though congratulations to Hampsthwaite who look to have sealed promotion and good luck next season in Division One!

** FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON **

After results last week we had confirmed that we will finish 4th no matter what this season! A season which has seen us win more than double the amount of games we have lost and average more than 2 points a game!

In a unique season it still wasn’t enough for us to get promoted but definitely a season to build on for the lads next season and really challenge for the league title/promotion!

This is also the 1st Team Manager Dave Laverack’s final game in charge of the club after 6 years in charge and 18 years at the club as player and manager.

With nothing to play for and our hard work coming to an end, a long away trip on the cards has only seen 12 available with the old tradition of positions out of a hat on the lips of all the players! End of season p**s up follows the game in York so anything could happen on Saturday!
