Barmby Moor Playing Field Association AGM 2026 is to take place on Thursday 28 May, 7pm at the pavilion.

🌼 *Barmby Feast Returns – Bigger, Brighter, and Back for 2026!*

Barmby Feast is just around the corner, and this year’s celebration on *Saturday 11 July at Barmby Moor Playing Fields (YO42 4DW)*, starting from *midday onwards*, promises to be one of our best yet. Following the fantastic turnout last year, we’re delighted to share that the evening do is back, with even more music, food, and fun for all ages.

*🎪 What’s Happening During the Day*
The Playing Fields green will be buzzing with activity, including:
- BBQ and food stalls offering something for every appetite
- Football tournament for local teams and friendly rivals
- Free family fun, including a bouncy castle, dance show, and classic sports-day games
- Alternative flower arranging competition – create a display in anything but a vase and bring it along on the day for your chance to win
- Dog show with categories for all our four-legged friends
- Tractor pull to test strength, teamwork, and village pride

*🎵 Evening Entertainment*
As the sun goes down, the party continues with:
- Live music from Jonny and the Dunebugs, plus other brilliant bands
- Dancing under the summer sky
- A firework finale to round off the night

🎉 Happy New Year from the Barmby Moor Playing Fields Association! 🎉
We’d like to wish everyone in the village and surrounding areas a happy, healthy and successful year ahead. As we head into the new year, we wanted to share a quick update on what’s been happening down at the fields — and what’s coming next.

⚽ Football Update

Senior teams (York Football League):
• First Team – currently 6th in Division 2 and through to the quarter-finals of the Junior County Cup (East Riding FA). They’ll be playing at Stamford Bridge (the local one!) on 14 February — best of luck to the lads!
• Reserves Team – sitting strong in 5th place in the Reserves C Division.
• New Sunday Team – off to a fantastic start and 3rd place in Division 2 of the Sunday League.

Junior teams (Selby & District League):
• Under 13s – 8th in Division 3
• Under 12s – flying high in 3rd place in Division 4
• Under 8s & Under 7s – both playing brilliantly with both teams having won their Champions League Cup on 15 November — an incredible achievement! 🏆

🏏 Cricket Update
• Barmby Moor CC Midweek Team finished 2nd in Division 3 of the Foss Evening Cricket League — a great season.
• The Village Team reached the final of the Canon Headley Cup on 11 July. Although they narrowly missed out in a thrilling game, this unique competition — requiring all players to live within the parish — always showcases fantastic community spirit. Huge thanks to all players, especially with the final taking place the day before our main fundraiser, The Barmby Feast!

🔧 Improvements at the Facilities

We’ve also been busy behind the scenes, including:
• Improved fire safety compliance and updated charitable governance, including trustee training
• A new boiler installed, with new showers coming very soon 🚿
• Planned roof repairs as part of ongoing maintenance
• An electricity audit to improve efficiency and modernise the facilities
• A completed ROSPA playground report, with some interim improvements planned for early 2026

🚀 Looking Ahead

We’re not stopping there! Alongside supporting our home clubs and welcoming other local clubs to hire the facilities, we’re already working towards:
📅 The Barmby Feast 2026 – Saturday 11 July (save the date!)
Plus continued work on grants, partnerships, and learning from similar facilities, to ensure we keep providing great services for the village and surrounding communities.
