We're approaching the very end of the league season now, with just two matches taking place this week.
On Tuesday at 6:30pm, our Mixed 4th Team welcome Tadcaster to Dunnington for their final match of the season. After a busy campaign and some great performances throughout the year, they'll be looking to finish on a high at home. πͺ
Then, on Sunday at 10:00am, our Men's Team host David Lloyd York 4. With just two matches remaining after this one, they'll be looking to make the most of their final few fixtures and finish the season strongly. π€

Dunnington Tennis Club
North Yorkshire Tennis club set in the outskirts of York. We are a very successful club with excellent facilities around us in the Sports Club complex.
We are a village based tennis club with four US Open coloured tarmacadam courts. Two of which are floodlit encouraging all year round play and coaching. Our coaching is led by Mark Hamilton, a very experienced LTA level four qualified coach.

This Week's Results πΎ
What a week for Dunnington Tennis Club! With the season reaching its final stages, there was plenty to celebrate, including three fantastic wins and some major achievements for our mixed teams.
The week started on Monday with our Mixed 3rd Team securing an excellent 62β46 away victory over Poppleton 4. This result has cemented their 2nd place in the division, meaning they are guaranteed promotion alongside our Mixed 2nd Team, regardless of the result in their final fixture against each other. A fantastic achievement from the whole team - well done! π
On Tuesday, our Mixed 2nd Team continued their remarkable season with another victory, beating Sutton on Derwent 3, 71β37. They remain undefeated, with just one game left to complete what has been a truly outstanding season. π
Thursday saw our Mixed 1st Team return to the top of the table with a convincing 69β39 victory over York 4. With their closest rivals dropping points this week, the win puts Dunnington back in 1st place with the season heading towards its conclusion. π
Our Mixed 4th Team then faced a challenging back-to-back schedule. They put in a great effort against Sutton on Derwent 4 on Thursday, narrowly missing out 52β56 in a closely fought match. πͺ
Just 24 hours later, the 4th Team were back on court against Tadcaster and produced a fantastic response, securing an impressive 65β43 away victory. A brilliant effort from the team to come back and win after playing two fixtures on consecutive evenings! π
Congratulations to everyone who represented Dunnington this week. With the Mixed 2nd already securing promotion, Mixed 3rd now guaranteed promotion, and Mixed 1st back at the top of their division, there's plenty for the club to be proud of as we approach the end of the season. πππ

Our very own Karen Mitchell is taking to the courts at Wimbledon tomorrow, competing in the Womenβs Over 60s Singles and Womenβs Over 60s Doubles as part of the British Masters Grass Court Closed Championships.
A huge thank you to our friends at Sutton upon Derwent Tennis Club for kindly letting Karen practise on their beautiful grass courts ahead of her matches. What a fantastic opportunity and a brilliant way to prepare for Wimbledon!

The season is drawing to a close, with just two rounds of fixtures remaining. Promotion races are still being decided, and every match will play an important part in how the final league tables shape up.
The action gets underway on Monday at 6:30pm, when our Mixed 3rd Team travel to Poppleton 4. With promotion still firmly within their sights, they'll be looking to start the week with another important victory. π€
On Tuesday evening, our newly promoted Mixed 2nd Team return to home courts to face Sutton on Derwent 3. Having secured promotion with an unbeaten record, theyβll be hoping to continue their excellent season. π
Thursday sees two more teams in action. Our Mixed 1st Team welcome York 4 to Dunnington and will be looking to continue their excellent campaign on home courts. At the same time, our Mixed 4th Team travel to Sutton on Derwent 4 for the first of two fixtures in just two days. π
The week concludes on Friday evening, when our Mixed 4th Team are back on the road to take on Tadcaster, rounding off a busy week with their second match in as many days. π

This Week's Result πΎ
What a week to round off another fantastic chapter of the season! Our teams recordedfour wins and a draw, with some outstanding performances across the club.
The week began on Monday with a remarkable achievement from our Ladies 1st Team, who travelled to Poppleton and secured a dominant 85β23 victory. That result means they have finished the season undefeated, top of Division 4, and have earned promotion to Division 3 for next season. It has been an incredible campaign, with the team setting the standard from start to finish. A huge congratulations to every player who represented the team throughout the season, you should all be immensely proud of what you've achieved. π
Tuesday brought more success, with our Mixed 1st Team continuing their excellent season by recording an emphatic 77β31 away win over York 3. At the same time, our Mixed 4th Team battled hard to earn a 54β54 draw against Sutton on Derwent 4 in a closely fought contest. π
On Thursday, our Mixed 2nd Team continued their outstanding unbeaten season with another commanding performance, defeating Stamford Bridge 80β28 away from home. The victory also secured promotion, a well-deserved reward for an exceptional campaign. π
Back at Dunnington, our Mixed 3rd Team produced another excellent display to beat Sutton on Derwent 3, 63β45. It was an important result that keeps their promotion hopes firmly alive and represents a significant step towards joining our other successful teams in moving up a division. πͺ
Congratulations to everyone who represented Dunnington this week. It's fantastic to see our Ladies 1st Team crowned Division 4 champions and promoted, our Mixed 2nd Team securing promotion with an unbeaten record in Division 9, and our Mixed 3rd Team putting themselves in a strong position in the race for promotion in also Division 9. π

FOUR FROM FOUR: with just one match to go in Goup 1B, Yorkshire women's O55s are top of the table after a 4-1 away win today against for captain Becky Lee and team mates Gill Kilner, Cath Davies and Karen Mitchell. It follows wins over , and a strong team. They next play Kent later in August in their last group match with a place in the national finals at stake against the winners of Group 1A where Cornwall have put themselves out in front with three wins from their three matches.

Although it was a quieter week for the club, there was still plenty to celebrate, with two wins from three matches and another strong set of performances from our mixed teams. π
Tuesday saw our Mixed 3rd Team continue their excellent run of form with a well-earned 59β49 away victory over Wilberfoss 3. The team has been playing some fantastic tennis in recent weeks and will be hoping to carry that momentum into the final stretch of the promotion battle. π₯
Our Mixed 4th Team welcomed Bubwith 4 to Dunnington and, despite a determined effort throughout, came up against a strong side and were unable to get the result on this occasion, 37β71. π
The week's action concluded on Thursday, when our Mixed 1st Team bounced back in style after last week's defeat, producing a dominant 71β37 home victory over York 2. It was an excellent all-round team performance and the perfect response as they continue to enjoy another outstanding season. π

On Thursday evening at 6:30pm, our Mixed 1st Team welcome York 2 to Dunnington. After suffering their first defeat of the season last week, they'll be eager to bounce back and finish the campaign strongly.π
There are no fixtures this week for our Mixed 2nd Team, Men's Team, or Ladies 1st Team* while our Ladies 2nd Team have now completed their league season following an excellent win in their final match.

This Weekβs Results πΎ
Another busy week of league tennis is complete, with some fantastic performances and five impressive victories for our club. π
Tuesday saw mixed fortunes for our teams. Our Mixed 1st Team suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 41β67 away to Fulford 1. While itβs disappointing to see their unbeaten run come to an end, theyβve had an outstanding campaign and will be looking to finish the season strongly. Meanwhile, our Mixed 2nd Team produced a phenomenal performance at home, cruising to a 92β16 victory over Wilberfoss 3 to maintain their unbeaten record. π
On Thursday, our Mixed 3rd Team continued their excellent recent form with a dominant 80β28 win over Stamford Bridge. Our Mixed 4th Team came up against a strong Riccal side and, despite battling hard throughout, were unable to get the result on this occasion, 24β84. π
Saturday belonged to our Ladies 2nd Team, who travelled to Appleton Roebuck and delivered a superb 74β34 victory to finish their league season on a high. Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic team performance.π
Sunday brought another excellent result for our Menβs Team, who secured a hard-fought 58β50 away win over New Earswick, continuing their strong second half of the season. πͺ
Unfortunately, our Ladies 1st Team were unable to fulfil their home fixture against Wilberfoss due to a shortage of available players, meaning the match had to be forfeited. While itβs a disappointing way for their home campaign to end, it shouldnβt take anything away from what has been an outstanding season. The team has been one of the strongest in the league and has played some exceptional tennis throughout the year. π
Congratulations to everyone who represented Dunnington this week. A special mention goes to our Mixed 2nd Team, who remain undefeated this season, while our Mixed 3rd Team, Ladies 2nd Team, and Menβs Team all produced excellent victories. π
