RIP SIR BILLY BOSTON 🕊️

Today Rugby League has lost one of its true giants.

Born in Tiger Bay, Cardiff, Sir Billy Boston went from the streets of South Wales to becoming one of the greatest Rugby League players the game has ever seen.

A Welshman. A trailblazer. A record breaker. A Rugby League legend.

His achievements on the field speak for themselves, but his legacy goes far beyond tries, trophies and records. Billy broke down barriers, inspired generations and paved the way for so many who followed him.

For us here in Wales, there will always be an extra sense of pride knowing that one of the greatest names in the history of Rugby League came from our little corner of the world.

The game is richer because Billy Boston was part of it.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone at Wigan Warriors at this incredibly sad time.

Rest in peace, Sir Billy.

BIG NEWS this morning. Our chairman Liam Price has been appointed as a director of Wales Rugby League. Massive congratulations to him on this appointment 👏💚

Part of his comments: “I’m not joining the Board simply to agree with everything. A good Board needs people who are prepared to ask questions, challenge decisions and offer different opinions, but ultimately everyone around that table has to be pulling in the same direction."

Our captain. Our leader. And quite possibly the man who drives everyone at this club crazy more than anyone else. 😂

His energy is relentless. His passion is infectious. And the love this man has for the Jets is impossible to question.

He gives everything to this club, on and off the pitch, and nobody deserved that moment yesterday more than him.

Seeing Dean lift that trophy, surrounded by his teammates after everything this group has put into this season, will be a memory that stays with us for a very long time.

The hours these guys give to the Jets is unreal.

And it goes far beyond our senior side. They’re heavily invested in the future of this club too, passing on their knowledge and giving up their time across our junior pathway — coaching multiple teams from Under 10s right through to Under 13s and 14s.

That’s what building a club is all about.

Community clubs simply don’t survive without people willing to give their time, energy and passion week after week — and we’re incredibly fortunate to have this group doing exactly that.

And in reality, nobody came close to this group this year. That’s not us being cocky — that’s simply how it’s been.

But seasons like this don’t happen through luck or opportunity. They’re built on effort.

25+ lads at training week in, week out.
Coaches there every week.
Players buying into what we’re building.
A group that turns up, works hard and wants to play for each other.

It’s no secret that senior Rugby League in Wales is going through a tough time. But this group is proof that the appetite for the game is still there. Put the effort in, create the right environment and give lads something they want to be part of — and they will turn up.

We’re incredibly proud of what this team has achieved in 2026.
