Georgian “right to work” as mountain guide. Today I got official status of self employment “Outdoor Mountain Guid” in Georgia. Took me two months to prove it. Small win, huge hope. #горныйгид

Грузинское «право на работу» горным гидом. Сегодня я получил официальный статус самозанятого «горного гида» в Грузии. На подтверждение этого ушло два месяца. Маленькая победа, огромная надежда. #горныйгид #горныйгид

Welcome to Tskaltubo, Georgia — once the crown jewel of the Soviet spa world, now one of the most hauntingly beautiful abandoned places on Earth.
The springs here were so legendary they were called the “Waters of Immortality” — warm mineral waters at a perfect 33–35°C, believed to cure everything from arthritis to heart disease. Even Joseph Stalin made the journey to bathe here.
At its peak, 19 grand sanatoriums and 9 bathhouses filled this small Georgian town, and four trains from Moscow pulled in every single day, packed with Soviet citizens on state-sponsored health retreats.
Then 1991 arrived. The Soviet Union collapsed, the resorts shut down, tourists disappeared — and Tskaltubo became something else entirely. Over 10,000 refugees displaced by the Abkhazia conflict took shelter in the crumbling halls. People were born and died within these ornate walls.
Now, grand staircases lead nowhere. Chandeliers hang in roofless ballrooms. Frescoes peel in empty theatres. And yet — it hums with a strange, electric energy.
Locals use Sanatorium Medea as a wedding venue. Couples pose on the same marble steps where Soviet officials once strolled. It’s eerie, it’s beautiful, it’s Georgia. #цхалтубо

Juta is not just a village lost in the mountains of Georgia. This is a place where silence pierces the soul, and mountain peaks awaken primordial delight in the heart. High above sea level, at an altitude of 2200 meters, Juta seems to be hiding between the slopes, watching the rare guests who dared to get here.

WHAT’S SO BEAUTIFUL ABOUT JUTE?
deep snow in the couloirs
beautiful views of the Chaukhi ridge
a wild and undeveloped place for freeriding
the opportunity to feel like you are in the Dolomites
great angles for freeride descents
nice approach on ski tour
We are ski touring to the top, overcoming a climb of about 1200 meters. This is not just a walk in the snow - this is a real immersion in the elements of the mountains, where new lines of descents open up around every turn. Long, breathtaking descents on powder snow, wide glades and steep slopes for the bravest await you. After a busy day, a warm guest house awaits us, where you can relax, recuperate and share emotions with like-minded people. #джута #скитур

Ski touring in Kazbegi is not for beginners, but if you already have experience in off-piste skiing and are ready for a real challenge, then this route will become one of the most vivid memories of your life.

What is the Ortsveri expedition and why is it unique

Ortsveri is not just a peak, but a whole mountain range above Stepantsminda and the Gergeti glacier. When I first saw these slopes, I realized: here it is, the very place that every Kazbek freeride lover dreams of

5 reasons why this program is special:

1. True acclimatization - unlike many commercial programs, there is no rush. Your body gradually adapts to the altitude, making the climb more comfortable and safer.

2. Comfort in harsh conditions is not a budget “jump” from the valley to the peak and back. The program includes organized transfers, comfortable accommodation in Stepantsminda and thoughtful movement to the high mountain zone.

3. Training on a glacier - Ortsveri is an ideal place to practice skills in moving on glaciers, working with ropes and making decisions in difficult mountain conditions.

4. Flexible strategy - to “In the Caucasus Mountains, conditions dictate the rules.” The route is adapted to the weather, snow conditions and the capabilities of the group.

5. A reserve day is not a luxury, but a necessity. A spare day allows you to adapt to the vagars of the weather and increases the chances of success of the expedition.

Age is only numbers. Andy from Colorado is 70’s years old and keep rolling. Will give odds to younger skiers. Spent almost 50 years on skis. Would be pleasure to meet him #гудаури
