If you’ve never been on a retreat before, you’re not sure what’s involved but would love to give it a try, then a weekend retreat in Herm is a great place to start.
You can do as many or as few classes as you like in the company of like-minded people, enjoying (optional) sea swims, delicious food and time to simply relax and unwind. And it’s only a short boat trip away! There are only two sea view rooms left, so now’s the time to book. I would love to see you there!

With the warmer weather this weekend and the uplifting sight of the beautiful blossom on the trees and hedgerows, it really feels like Spring has arrived at last! As we move into the theme of Spring in class, the intention this month is Blossom.
It’s so easy, in our fast-paced lives, to forget that we are intrinsically linked to the Earth, Nature and the changing seasons. Just like the trees, our energy levels are rising after winter’s hibernation and we too can start to blossom into the year ahead.
As we move through this month’s practice, ask yourself what you want from each class. This may reflect what you are currently hoping to achieve off your mat too. Join me for an energising, heart-opening but also contemplative flow to help guide you towards your best version of you!

This month’s practice focuses on the Anandamaya Kosha and finding our ‘flow state’ - that sense of fluidity between mind and body, where you become totally absorbed by and deeply focused on what is happening in that moment, creating a feeling of pure contentment, free from distraction.
I will be teaching this morning 09.30 at the All About Yoga studio and this week, I get to teach an extra class! Join me at 18.00 this evening as I cover for the lovely Jane England at Beau Sejour - all welcome.

HOW MANY YEARS DOES IT TAKE TO GET
FLEXIBLE?

This is an impossible question to answer - at least, to answer definitively. Yoga has nothing to do whatsoever with flexibility - that
flexibility is a side benefit practicing yoga and no measure of the depth or strength of your yoga practice.

Flexibility looks different for every person. You need to let go of the idea of attaining some perfect posture.

You also need to learn to distinguish between tension and compression in your practice so you know when vou hit the mechanical end range of movement within your body. You also need to learn how to become aware of not just muscular tension but also mental and emotional tension.

This will help you go deeper over time when it's not muscular tension holding you back, but mental holding patterns.
