We recently participated in a specialised training programme on “Artificial Intelligence and Epidemic Modelling for Plant Protection and One Health.”
The programme brought together participants from BNARI, PPRSD, CABI, CRIG, NBA, as well as students and other participants, to explore the growing applications of artificial intelligence, data analysis and epidemic modelling in agricultural research, plant health and One Health.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Andrzej Jarynowski, the facilitator, for delivering an engaging and insightful training and for demonstrating the practical applications of AI and epidemic modelling in plant protection and One Health. A special thank you to Mr. Solomon Otu for facilitating the invitation of our speaker and helping make this valuable training possible.

The programme provided participants with valuable knowledge and perspectives that can contribute to strengthening research, innovation and data-driven approaches to addressing plant health and One Health challenges.

🦟 9TH EDITION OF MALARIA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

This year’s edition of the Malaria Awareness Campaign (MAC 2026) was successfully held on 15th September 2026, at the Taifa Community Basic School under the theme: “Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.”
Organised by BNARI in collaboration with the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), the campaign brought together partners, schoolchildren, teachers, health professionals and other stakeholders to promote malaria awareness and prevention.
The programme featured statements from our partners, an engaging educational talk by the NMEP on malaria prevention and control, as well as vibrant poetry recitals and cultural displays by the talented pupils of Taifa Community Basic School. Their enthusiasm and creativity added a memorable touch to the campaign.
The event concluded with a malaria screening exercise conducted by nurses from the Taifa Polyclinic, providing participants with an important opportunity to know their malaria status and seek appropriate care where necessary.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to BNARI management, NMEP, Taifa Polyclinic, the management and staff of Taifa Community Basic School, our partners, sponsors, invited guests, teachers, pupils, the Malaria Awareness Campaign team, and everyone who contributed to making this year's campaign a success.
A special thank you to all the children of Taifa Community Basic School for their wonderful participation and for helping us spread the message that ending malaria requires everyone's effort. ❤️

Until next year, when we return for the 10th Edition of the Malaria Awareness Campaign, we look forward to seeing you all again! 🎉
