BNARI was privileged to host the Business Advisory Team from Exim Bank Ghana on a working visit to our Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Central Unit.

The visit formed part of Exim Bankโ€™s efforts to explore innovative ways of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility towards Ghanaโ€™s agricultural sector. Discussions and demonstrations focused on how BSF technology can serve as a sustainable solution to some of the key challenges facing poultry production, particularly the high cost of feed.
Through the production of protein meal for poultry and organic fertilizer (frass) for crop cultivation, BSF technology offers a pathway to improved food security, environmental sustainability, and job creation.
BNARI looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with Exim Bank Ghana to scale up this technology for the benefit of farmers and to contribute to national agricultural development.

EXCITING NEWS!!!
After 2 years of collaboration, International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and BNARI-GAEC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize the Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub (CBE-Hub) in Ghana โ€” a major milestone toward sustainable waste management and resource recovery in the region.
With over 60% of Ghanaโ€™s municipal solid waste being organic, and urbanization increasing, the CBE-Hub is tackling a critical challenge, turning waste into resource.
๐ŸŒ Facilitated by IWMI, the Hub acts as a one-stop platform for applied research, capacity building, advisory services, and knowledge sharing across the organic waste-to-resource value chain. Though based in Ghana, its vision spans all West Africa, fostering innovation, investment, and environmental stewardship.
๐Ÿ“– In this blog, IWMI reflects on the Hubโ€™s journey from inception to impact. It also highlights the key partnerships and achievements powering the circular bioeconomy in Ghana.
