🚨STATEMENT ON ASEMPA FM

The management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has, with immediate effect, boycotted all channels of Asempa FM indefinitely and has also banned the media channel from covering any organized activities of the club, effective March 3, 2025.

This decision follows the blatant disregard for professionalism, journalistic ethics, and integrity displayed by 'Prof' EK Wallace and the broader management of Asempa FM.
Upon a thorough scrutiny of the disgraceful sports program hosted by 'Prof' EK Wallace on Asempa FM, the club has established the following undisputed facts:
1. The said program was deliberately orchestrated to serve an agendum of shielding individuals connected to the gruesome murder of our beloved supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong (Pooley).
2. The management of Asempa FM knew or ought to have known the content and intent of the program, as evidenced by their publicized flyer promoting the show, which was widely circulated before the broadcast.
3. The program lasted approximately seventeen minutes, during which reckless and false statements were propagated.
4. Neither the host nor the management of Asempa FM disclosed the content of the program to the Ghana Police Service or any security agency before or after the broadcast, despite the serious nature of the case.
5. Asempa FM has deliberately ignored the sensitivity and gravity of this murder case, displaying gross irresponsibility and an utter lack of professionalism.
6. Asempa has undermined the work of the security services and the judiciary.
7. To date, no disciplinary action has been taken against the host, 'Prof' EK Wallace, by Asempa FM, even in the face of overwhelming public outcry.

Asante Kotoko SC has long observed Asempa FM's growing notoriety for permitting the use of abusive, derogatory, and defamatory language against our club, its officials, players, and supporters. This consistent pattern of behavior has gone unchecked with the clear approval of Asempa FM's management.
While we fully acknowledge the media as a major stakeholder in the football industry and deeply appreciate its contributions, we will not tolerate any media platform being used to denigrate our club, undermine our integrity, or shield criminals who bring disgrace to the sport.

Asante Kotoko SC will always embrace constructive and factual criticism and will remain an advocate for quality journalism, fairness, and justice in the football industry. However, we will never be coerced into compromising our values by tolerating the reckless utterances of irresponsible journalists.

We call on our supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, even in the face of provocation and misinformation. The club remains committed to seeking justice for Pooley and ensuring that no individual or institution unduly interferes with that process.

Breaking News!

Cameroon football great Samuel Eto'o has been banned from attending national team games for six months by FIFA. The ban follows charges stemming from an incident at the U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia on September 11. FIFA accused Eto'o, who has served as president of the Cameroon Football Federation since 2021, of "offensive behavior" and violating "the principles of fair play" during the game. This suspension applies to all men’s and women’s matches involving Cameroon across all age categories until April 2025.
