As we join the rest of the world to celebrate this year's World Day for Safety and Health at Work on this day, HESAG would like to urge government to establish an independent occupational safety and health authority in Ghana to regulate workplace safety and health matters in Ghana.

Every day, 6,300 people die as a result of occupational accidents or work-related diseases – more than 2.3 million deaths per year.
