IT'S THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Our boys head into Sunday's clash with Wassaman FC knowing only a win will absolutely guarantee our Division One League survival. We host Wassaman FC a very difficult side that have conceded few numbers of goals, on the final match day with our division one league future still on the balance. No one could have envisaged our season to pan out like this when we had beaten Ebusua Dwarfs FC back in week 22 league fixture to climb up to 8th place. Castro’s side have now taken just 5 points from their last 5 games and they must win their last game of the season to ensure survival. Let’s go for the full points boys. CS – No Regrets!

A FIVE STAR PERFORMANCE BY OUR BOYS CRUSHED PROUD UNITED
This was an ugly reality check, albeit one delivered with ruthless beauty by our boys against Proud United FC. Our boys were magical when they click with this one of their irrepressible displays until their concentration wavered, victory long since assured. The contest had actually been decided by the interval. It was Proud's own sloppiness that invited catastrophe. Kumasi Cornerstone had swarmed all over them from the start, their tempo blistering where Proud United had sought to ease themselves into the contest. They simply could not cope, with this a defensive mess more reminiscent of the chaotic defeat suffered in this arena in their previous meetings against our local rivals Deportivo Asokwa FC and King Faisal FC. They were outclassed for lengthy periods, unable to suppress our boy's attacking verve. The speed at which our boys counter-attacked was ferocious and their ability to drag Proud United defenders out of position gave them space on which they capitalised ruthlessly. This was a slaughter at times.
Yawdick, inevitably, was star player of the day with the sheer brilliance of the chances he did take drew the focus. The first goal of the day came in the 11th minutes of play after high pressing game from our boys which resulted to one of the our opponent defenders using his hand to block a shot on goal and a penalty was awarded. Our club’s leading scorer, Yawdick makes no mistake in slotting in his 13th goal of the season from the penalty spot. Soon to follow was another brilliant fast and passing movements from our boys which saw Yawdick being put through on goal in a one-on-one situation before scoring his second goal of the day and his 14th of the season. After 33 minutes of play, the visitors pull a goal back from a corner kick which was poorly defended by our boys, leaving Proud United’s striker unmarked to put the ball at the back of the net. This goal conceded drew a great reaction from our boys who took total control of the game and increase the lead with a great effort from our captain Mubarik, who most of the time has always be doing overlapping runs, found Mujid at the far side of the goal post to head in our 3rd goal of the day before half time whistle. The second of half of proceedings were largely controlled by our boys with lot of misses including a well created chance after Nii Ashie Afutu took the ball from his own half and went past all the Proud United players on his path and square play to Gago in the box 18, who wasted no time before passing to our captain in the box but Mubarik could only put the ball too high over the goal post with only the keeper to beat. The last goal of the day was arguably more impressive, a stunned collection and deliciously finish from Yawdick in the box after coaxing rare space from the Proud United defenders. The ball arced gloriously past the Proud United’s goalkeeper out-stretched hand to earn him his 15th goal of the season. Even Proud United's players and officials might have considered a spontaneous round of applause for his mesmerising of their team throughout the day. His reward was complete in stoppage time at the end of the period, with a rousing chorus of his name from our vociferous fans, who will always appreciate one of their own.
