JOG-ON LIONESS SET FOR HISTORIC DIVISION 2 DEBUT

JOG-ON LIONESS will make their maiden appearance in the GFF Women’s Division 2 League against giants Gambia Armed Forces. After a stellar season - winning the KMRFA 3rd Division League and the GFF Greater Banjul promotional play-offs - the Lionesses are ready to take on this new challenge.

This marks a proud moment for the team as they roar into the big leagues with determination and pride.

We are pleased to announce that Bakau Lioness FC (JOG-ON Lioness) has been awarded a Certificate of Participation for our involvement in the KMRFA Women's Preseason Football Tournament. This remarkable initiative is designed to prepare clubs within the Kanifing Municipality for the upcoming GFF 2024-25 National 1st and 2nd Division Leagues.

The certificate was proudly received on behalf of the club by our president, Mr. Lamin Jobe.

The board and management of Bakau Lioness FC sincerely thank KMRFA for this exceptional initiative and extend our heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support of women's football. We also take this opportunity to wish all participating clubs a successful league season, with special wishes to our Lionesses for a triumphant maiden campaign in the GFF 2nd Division League.

The Lioness (MOTM) for The Day

FULL-TIME:

The Lionesses are champions of the GFF Greater Banjul Women's Division 2 Play-off Final and are promoted to the GFF Women's 2nd Division League!

In an intense encounter, the champions of Kanifing Municipality Region, JOG-ON LIONESS FC, defeated the champions of West Coast Region, COBBLERS FC, in a thrilling showdown, winning 3-2 in a penalty shootout after a nail-biting 1-1 draw in regulation time.

The Lionesses came from behind after trailing by a goal just 7 minutes in when Cobblers were awarded a spot-kick, and Mariama Sanneh converted the penalty.

The Queens of KM, the Lionesses, reacted perfectly and were rewarded with an equalizer just 10 minutes later. Muminatou Barry delivered a stunning free-kick from the Jog-On Lioness center-back position!

After the interval, neither team could find the decisive goal, leading to a dramatic shootout.

Ever-reliable Lioness Captain Sainabou Jallow calmly scored the decisive spot-kick after Cobblers missed for the third time, securing a 3-2 penalty shootout victory for the Lionesses. This triumph guided JOG-ON LIONESS FC to a historic back-to-back promotion in just their second season, having gained qualification to the KM Women's 3rd Division League last season, and now promoted to GFF Women’s Division Two (2) in just over a year of existence.

The Lionesses head into the dressing room all square after rallying back from an early setback, courtesy of Muminatou Barry's stunning goal.

Cobblers were awarded a spot-kick, and Mariama Sanneh stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty in the 7th minute.

The Queens of KM, the Lionesses, reacted perfectly and were rewarded with an equalizer just 10 minutes later. Muminatou Barry delivered a stunning free-kick from the Jog-On Lioness center-back position!

Come and see for yourself the outcome today at the LOSFF in Yundum where our female champions Jog-On lioness FC will play against the champions of WestCoast region, Cobblers FC for the coveted prize in the Female National league 2.

MATCH ALERT: COBBLERS vs. JOG-ON LIONESS FC

The Lionesses gear up for the most important game in the club's history. As champions of the Kanifing Municipality Region, JOG-ON LIONESS FC are set to lock horns with the champions of the West Coast Region, COBBLERS FC. The match will take place at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum, in the GFF Women’s Division 2 Promotional Play-offs Final for the Greater Banjul Area.

The Lionesses, unbeaten throughout the entire campaign, aim to secure victory and wrap up a perfect and historic season, thereby gaining promotion to the GFF 2nd tier football.
