On 11th April 2026, the Foni Kansala District Football Committee successfully wrapped up its 2025–2026 knockout league tournament. The final match which featured Dobong against Kankuntu, with both teams battling for the trophy in an exciting showdown.

Dobong emerged victorious, defeating Kankuntu with goals in both halves. Modoulamin Gibba opened the scoring in the 39th minute of the first half, while Abdou Gibba sealed the win with a second goal in the 50th minute.

As champions, Dobong received a cash prize of D35,000.00, while runners-up Kankuntu were awarded D30,000.00.

Abdoulie Manneh of Dobong was named Man of the Match and Modoulamin Jammeh of Kankuntu finished as the leading goal scorer of the tournament with four goals with each receiving a cash prize of D1000.00 and Nuha Badjie was recognized as the most disciplined player, earning D1,500.00.

The Foni Kansala District Football Committee extends its sincere appreciation to the Guest of Honour, Mr. Modou Badjie, Deputy Governor, Musa Amul Nyassi and as well as all donors, stakeholders, players, and fans for their continued support.

In the final match of the APS Sponsored League Inter-district Football Final, Foni Kansala District put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short against Berefet, losing 1-0. The game was intense from the beginning, with both sides creating chances in the first half.

The scoreline remained 1-0 heading into halftime, but the first half saw Berefet take control. A well-timed strike just before the hour mark broke the deadlock, giving Berefet the lead.

Though, Foni Kansala District fought tirelessly, the final whistle blew with Berefet celebrating a hard-fought 1-0 victory. The match was a testament to both teams' determination.

It is no longer hidden that Foni has reached its pinnacle in Gambian Football, and has produced skilled players in the country's top Leagues albeit the narrow opportunities for players in this promising part of the country. This spotlight, tells the story of resilience, hard work and commitment of the great sons of Foni who laid their lives to see that football blossoms.

The story of Skeikh Omar Jallow and Siaka Badjie, two uprising coaches from Foni Kansala District, whispers ambition forged in countless hours of practice, discipline and focus. The duo who obtained a D License in coaching each, have recently grabbed the attention of "Foninkas", in home and abroad.

Siaka Badjie, the head coach of Bajonkoto, a team that has a solid record in Kansala's Football, is one of the youngest hero to have ever set his foot on the touchline as head coach of Foni Kansala District Football Team. Considering his age and experience, his appointment to this vital role attracted huge slate talks, but the young man takes aback to silence whoever doubts his abilities.

Sheikh Omar Jallow, a student of the University of The Gambia, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies is yet another industrious young man who sees football as his ultimate path to building a skilled society. The Babousarr assistant Coach, Sheikh, doubles as the assistant to Siaka Badjie, as they stewardly manage Kansala's Football Team in the ongoing APS Sponsored Foni Inter-District Football League Championship.

However, what defines greatness in these leaders is their determination to achieve their goals despite the odds stacked against them. In spite of all the difficulties and failures, they remained the major driving force to turn their communities into one of the most significant and valuable football zones. . .

Ousainou Sanyang scored the goal against Foni Bintang District in a do-or-die Semifinal, taking the Foni Kansala District Football team to the APS Sponsored League Final.

In the highly competitive Inter-District Football Championship, few players shine as brightly as Ousainou Sanyang, who is more commonly known as Bonny. Playing for the Foni Kansala District Football team, Bonny has quickly become one of the best wingers in the league, recognized for his incredible speed and skillful dribbling.

This season, Bonny's performance has been truly amazing. He easily dribbles past defenders and has a sharp eye for scoring, which has gained him a lot of admiration from fans. In every game, Bonny showcases a special mix of speed and skill, often leaving his opponents behind, making him a key player for his district.

As his name echoes throughout Foni Kansala District, coaches, teammates, pundits, and fans cheer for him whenever he faces an opponent. He has a natural talent for the sport, but what really sets him apart from others is his hard work and dedication to getting better.

The ever-patient fans, experienced veterans, technicians, and committed players of Babou Sarr FC have finally shaken hands with Paradise after a decade with no trophy. Having won comfortably with 2 goals against the young and proud runners-up of Kampant United FC, the neighborhood of Babou Sarr smiles, at last!

Abdoulie Sanneh alias Tigo and Babucarr Fatty, the goal scorer and diminutive midfielder who won the man of the match award after an astonishing display of midfield prowess, sparked Babou Sarr FC's history. It was the final of mixed emotions as the longest-serving captain, fondly called Captain Duta, bid farewell after he last lifted a trophy back in 2013.

Indeed, they have a season to remember for years after winning this year's Foni Kansala District Football Committee's Knock-out Cup. Unfortunately, exited the League Cup on the Semi-finals stage after a nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out lost to Kurunulie FC.

At last, these young players, blended with a few experienced heroes have made history and this win would be in the archives of Babou Sarr for years to come.
