SK CENTRAL SECURES SPOT IN THE VETERANS' CUP 2023 FINAL

In a hard-fought semifinal clash at Manjai Football Field, SK Central triumphed with a 1-0 victory over the Dembadou veterans, earning the coveted ticket to face SK West in an all-Serekunda Derby in The Veterans' Cup 2023 final.

The decisive moment unfolded in the 43rd minute when Modou Njie struck, giving SK Central the crucial lead. Sukuta battled valiantly for an equalizer, but the SK Central veterans showcased exceptional defensive solidity, denying any opportunities and securing the all-important victory.

With this triumph, SK Central is set to face off against SK West in the final later this month, competing for the coveted trophy in what promises to be an intense showdown between the Serekunda rivals.

Sukuta and SK Central will lock horns in a battle for a coveted spot in the final of first edition of The Veterans' Cup 2023 against SK West.

The eagerly anticipated clash will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at Manjai Football Field.

SK WEST SECURES FINAL SPOT IN VETERANS' CUP 2023

SK West earned a spot in the final after a hard-fought victory over Tanji. Bamuhtar Drammeh opened the scoring midway through the first half, and Ex-Gambia International, Momodou Ceesay alias Zico, doubled SK West's lead in the 33rd minute, maintaining his impressive form as the tournament's top scorer with his 4th goal.

The first half concluded with SK West leading 2-0. In the second half, Tanji's Coastal veterans regrouped, applying pressure on SK West. Their efforts paid off in the 43rd minute as Ousman Marena headed home from a well-taken free-kick, giving Tanji hopes of a comeback. Despite their pursuit of an equalizer, SK West remained resilient at the back, securing a 2-1 victory.

With this result, SK West secures a place in the final and awaits the outcome of Saturday's match between Sukuta and SK Central to determine their opponent.

Sukuta and Tanji progress from Group A as winners and Runner-up, with 8 points and 6 points respectively - ahead of Bakau, SK East and Manjai.

Elsewhere Serekunda West and Serekunda Central progress from Group B as winners and Runner-up respectively with 7 points each ahead of Banjul, Brikama and Gunjur.
