LSN: Ida Camara Memorial Trophy Officially Presented to Bansang Football Committee

This afternoon, Tochkass FC, on behalf of Uncle Mbow and the Camara family, presented their giant Ida Camara Memorial Trophy to the Bansang Football Committee at Camara K***a, Pipeline FC, Bansang.

The meeting opened with prayers for the deceased and for the Camara family.
After the prayers, *Mbow Camara’s sister* addressed the gathering. She spoke about the significance of the trophy and urged all teams in the competition to maintain peace throughout the tournament and to pray for the best team to win.

Sam of Tochkass FC also offered prayers for the deceased.
The Chairman of the Bansang Football Committee, Mr. Ousman Jarra, and the Assistant Secretary, Mr. Jallow, both delivered messages of thanks and prayed for Allah to continue blessing the Camara family in abundance.

The handing-over ceremony was concluded with prayers.

May the tournament be played in unity and may the Ida Camara Memorial Trophy be lifted by a deserving team. ⚽

THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT BEHIND TOCHKASS FOOTBALL CLUB

No history of Tochkass Football Club can be complete without acknowledging the remarkable and enviable support it commanded shortly after its foundation.

The club was deeply rooted in the community of Jammagen, particularly among the households closest to G*i K***a. Notable examples include Nyang K***a, Sogur K***a, Mbye K***a, and the home of the late Anty Sally Badjie.

This home produced some of the club’s most iconic supporters: *Lam Boy Camara*, *Fatou Camara*, and *Ebou Camara*.

The women of the neighborhood also played a central role in sustaining the team. *Sister Amie Mbye*, *Daba Njie*, *Fatou Camara*, *Incha*, *Man Tut Boye*, and other sisters tirelessly prepared palatable meals for the players before matches.

The anticipation of these meals was part of the team’s culture. The night before a game, there would always be jovial debates among the players over the choice of meal. I vividly recall *Alagie G*i* and *Musa Ndimbalan* always advocating for _'Domada'_, especially the _'domada'_ prepared by *Sister Daba*.

*Daba Njie*, as we know her today, is the mother of *Yankuba Njie*, popularly known as *"G*indeh"*. G*indeh himself was a fine striker who represented both Tochkass FC and *Diego FC*. He played for Diego during the period when Tochkass FC was inactive.

The support for Tochkass FC extended beyond Jammagen and across the entire town, particularly among the business community. On match days, the atmosphere was unmistakable around the market area. Senegalese and Guinean market vendors would hurriedly close their shops to make their way to the town field to watch Tochkass play.

It was not only the quality of football on display that drew the crowds. The matches were accompanied by vibrant fanfare, with the rhythmic beats of _Sabari Wolof_ drums echoing melodiously across the football ground.
