FBK Central – Nawettan 2025/2026 Season Summary

The *2025/2026 Nawettan season* marked a historic milestone for *FBK Central*, as it was the *first senior competition the team has competed in their contemporary history*. In their debut at senior level, FBK Central produced a campaign defined by resilience, discipline, and a historic cup triumph.

*League Proper*

FBK Central finished *3rd/4th* in the league proper with *0 wins, 3 draws, and 0 defeats*, scoring *1 goal* and conceding *1 goal*. Despite going through the group stage *unbeaten*, the team was *eliminated* in a tightly contested group.

The opening match against reigning *Knockout Champions Black Stars FC* ended in a disciplined *0–0 draw*.
The second game against *Happy Corner FC* saw FBK Central settle for a *1–1 draw** after an improved attacking display.
The final group fixture was a *make-or-break clash* against *Frontline FC*, where FBK Central pressed for qualification but faced a well-organised defence, resulting in another draw and eventual elimination.

# # # Knockout Cup Journey

The *Knockout Cup* became the defining chapter of FBK Central’s first senior season.

The team opened their campaign with a *narrow but deserved 1–0 victory over Estate*. In the *quarter-final*, FBK Central once again faced *Frontline FC*, with the match ending *1–1 in regulation time*. However, the game could not proceed to penalties due to a violent incident.

Following the incident, *five players from the starting line-up, the head coach, and his trainer were all got controversially suspended*, a decision that ruled them out of the replay. Despite this major setback and after several rounds of negotiation, the replay was eventually played and decided by a *post-match shootout*, where a depleted FBK Central side showed remarkable composure to advance.

The *semi-final* against *New Town FC* was arguably the biggest test of the season. Facing a far more experienced side and still dealing with the effects of suspensions, FBK Central’s young squad defied expectations, racing into a *2–0 lead* before conceding a late consolation goal to claim a famous victory.

In the *final*, FBK Central met a disciplined *Jalokoto FC*, who were chasing a historic double. After a tense and evenly contested match, the final was decided on penalties. Club legend *Yaya Jagne* rose to the occasion, *heroically saving two spot kicks*, to seal victory and deliver the *first senior trophy in the club’s history*.

*Season Reflection*

For a team competing in its *first senior Nawettan in contemporary times*, FBK Central’s achievements were extraordinary. Despite early league elimination and severe suspensions at a critical stage of the Knockout Cup, the team demonstrated resilience, unity, and belief to claim silverware. The 2025/2026 season stands as a landmark moment and a strong foundation for the future of FBK Central.
