The Shotokan Karate-Do Organization (SKO) – Gambia Chapter, in collaboration with Busumbala Karate Club, is proud to announce the SKO Kumite Competition 2026.

📅 Date: 8th–9th August 2026
📍 Venue: Busumbala Dojo

This competition brings together karatekas from SKO dojos to demonstrate their skill, courage, discipline, and sportsmanship in the spirit of Shotokan Karate.

We warmly invite all SKO clubs, instructors, athletes, officials, parents, and karate supporters to be part of this exciting event. Let us come together to promote unity, friendship, and excellence through karate.

🇬🇲🥋A Day of Honor, Inspiration, and Homecoming at Busumbala Karate Club (BKC)!

Today was a truly memorable day at the Busumbala Karate Club Dojo as we had the privilege of welcoming two distinguished members of our karate family.

First, we warmly welcomed back our Deputy Grand Master, who has safely returned home from his visit to China . We are grateful for his safe journey and are delighted to have him back at the dojo, continuing to guide and inspire our students.

At the same time, we had the great honor of receiving a special visit from Molamin Jagana, a proud student of Master Tijan Sumbundu of Black Eagle Karate Club.

Currently based in Germany 🇩🇪, Molamin has dedicated himself to advancing his karate career. During his time there, he became a multiple-time karate champion, proving his excellence as an athlete through outstanding performances in competition. Today, he also serves as an International Karate Referee, proudly representing The Gambia 🇬🇲 with professionalism and distinction on the international stage.

While home on a short holiday, Molamin visited Busumbala Karate Club, where he trained alongside our Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master, instructors, and students. He generously shared the valuable experience, technical knowledge, and life lessons he has gained throughout his international karate journey.

His achievements remind us that with discipline, commitment, and perseverance, Gambian karatekas can reach the highest levels of the sport and proudly represent our nation across the world.

On behalf of the entire Busumbala Karate Club, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Deputy Grand Master and Molamin Jagana for making today such a special occasion. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of martial artists.
