March 6, 2026, we were diving at the Morphy site looking at a tiny charming sharptail eel when, suddenly, a humpback whale appeared in front of us. It was rather a “baby” whale, about 8-9 meters tall, who came, on three occasions, to observe us. When he left at the end of the first encounter, we were stunned to have had the chance to see a whale so close during a dive on a site just 100m from the shore! We continued our dive quietly and 2-3' later, this beautiful whale came back to see us. It stays longer with us, breathing on the surface and diving for closer observation of the divers (very strange marine animals making bubbles 😉).

Then it left and came back again a few minutes later and he really had fun (we think...) looking at us by getting closer and closer.

These exceptional moments filled with intense emotions are obviously forever engraved in our memories. Fortunately, that day, we had the chance that one of the divers, Helmut Tesmer was filming with his Insta360 and so we can share these moments with you. Erik Moeller edit the footages on a “natural” way just by cutting of a few shots as the total visit time of this very curious whale calf lasted almost nine minutes !

Le 6 mars 2026, nous étions sur le site de Morphy en train de regarder une charmante serpentine quand, soudain, une baleine à bosse est apparue devant nous. C'était plutôt un baleineau, d'environ 8-9 mètres, qui est venu, à 3 reprises, nous observer. Quand il est parti à la fin de son 1er passage, nous étions sidérés d'avoir eu la chance de voir une baleine si près lors d'une plongée sur un site à seulement 100m du rivage! Nous avons continué notre plongée tranquillement et 2-3' plus t**d, ce magnifique baleineau est revenu nous voir en alternant respiration en surface et observation plus rapprochée des plongeurs (mammifères marins un peu balourds avec leurs palmes et faisant du bruit avec leurs bulles😉).
Puis il est reparti pour mieux revenir quelques minutes plus t**d et là il s'est vraiment amusé(on pense...) à nous regarder en s'approchant de plus en plus.
Ces moments exceptionnels remplis d'émotions intenses sont évidemment à jamais gravés dans nos mémoires. Heureusement, ce jour-là, nous avons eu la chance que l’un des plongeurs, Helmut Tesmer filme avec son Insta360 et ainsi nous pouvons partager ces moments avec vous. Erik Moeller a fait un montage "naturel" en coupant juste quelques longueurs car les visites de ce baleineau très curieux ont duré près de 9’!

January 15th a beautiful day with great visibility, this dive on the Fresnel at depth of 25 meters and one can see vine our boat above this wreck, super!

Last Thursday we made a dive on the deep Gustavia wreck, tyhe conditions were geart, a little bit of current who ch gave this dive even more exitement.

Today I had the change to test our new AOI-Pen PE-9/10 underwater camera house, it is surprisingly light and comfortable in the hand and in use is great all controls are on the right spot a problem with many UW houses.
It has a lot of possibilities concerning the lenses wet /dry one can change and its price is not a hangover.
Here it is equipped with the M.Zuiko 8-18mm wide angle lens and port, the first results don’t lie, amazingly sharp and crisp.
