Η ταινία μας 4Caves - 4Seasons θα προβληθεί στη "Βραδιά Κινηματογράφου" το Σάββατο 18 Απριλίου, στο Roquefort-la-Bédoule της νότιας Γαλλίας. Η εκδήλωση διοργανώνεται από το σπηλαιολογικό κλαμπ L'escandaou, Club de Spéléologie et Canyoning Aubagne - Cuges της Aubagne.
Η προβολή θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο πλαίσιο της ετήσιας συνάντησης γαλλικών σπηλαιολογικών συλλόγων και ομοσπονδιών. Αποτελεί μεγάλη τιμή για εμάς η συμμετοχή σε αυτή τη σημαντική διοργάνωση και μια μεγάλη ευκαιρία να μοιραστούμε το έργο μας με τη #Γαλλική #σπηλαιολογική κοινότητα.

4Caves – 4Seasons: "Journey into the Veins of the Earth" The next TOP2BOTTOM Diving Film is about a journey throughout Greece’s distinguished four seasons, with the aim of filming four very different Greek caves and displaying them in combination with the cultural heritage and natural beauty of their wider region.

Μέσα από μια καταπράσινη ορεινή διαδρομή που ακολουθεί την ανατολική απόληξη του Πάρνωνα και καταλήγει στο Κάβο Μαλιά, ξεπροβάλει το σπήλαιο της Καστανιάς, ένα από τα ομορφότερα σπήλαια της Ελλάδας!

Top2Bottom CAVE KASTANIA Discover Kastania Cave in Laconia, one of Greece’s most colorful and rare caves, featuring unique speleothems and a rich geological history.

🇬🇷 Το απόγευμα της 12ης Φεβρουαρίου 1944, το φορτηγό ατμόπλοιο S/S “Oria” φτάνει στην περιοχή του Σουνίου, έχοντας αποπλεύσει την προηγούμενη μέρα από το λιμάνι της Ρόδου, μεταφέροντας περισσότερους από 4.000 Ιταλούς αιχμαλώτους, στοιβαγμένους στα αμπάρια του πλοίου.

Η σφοδρή κακοκαιρία που συναντάει, το οδηγούν σε εσφαλμένη πορεία και στις 18.45 το πλοίο προσκρούει με τη δεξιά του πλευρά στο νοτιοανατολικό άκρο της νήσου Πάτροκλος.
Ο απολογισμός του ναυαγίου υπήρξε τραγικός καθώς οι Ιταλοί αιχμάλωτοι χωρίς δυνατότητα διαφυγής, χάνονται ουσιαστικά στο σύνολο τους, δημιουργώντας την μεγαλύτερη ναυτική τραγωδία που υπήρξε ποτέ στην Μεσόγειο.

Το ναυάγιο ήρθε εκ νέου στο φως το 1999 με την ανακάλυψή του από μια ομάδα Ελλήνων δυτών, οι οποίοι έπειτα από μεγάλες προσπάθειες το ταυτοποίησαν και το ανέσυραν στην επιφάνεια της μνήμης.

Η καταδυτική μας ομάδα Top2Bottom Diving Team σε συνεργασία με τους Up Stories, θέλοντας να αποτίσει φόρο τιμής στην μνήμη αυτών των αδικοχαμένων ανθρώπων και στις οικογένειες τους, παρουσιάζει τα γεγονότα και την ιστορική τους εξέλιξη, για να μείνει αυτή η ανθρώπινη τραγωδία ζωντανή στην ιστορική συνείδηση κατά το πέρασμα των ετών.

🇬🇧 In the afternoon of 12 February 1944, the cargo steamer S/S “Oria” arrived in the area of Sounion, having sailed the previous day from the port of Rhodes, carrying more than 4,000 Italian prisoners, crammed into the holds of the ship.
The severe bad weather she encountered led her to take a wrong course, and at 18.4,5 the ship ran aground on her starboard side on the south-eastern edge of Patroclus Island.
The aftermath of the wreck was tragic as the Italian prisoners with no means of escape were virtually lost in their entirety, creating the greatest maritime tragedy ever to occur in the Mediterranean.
The wreck was brought to light again in 1999 with its discovery by a group of Greek divers who, after great efforts, identified it and brought it to the surface of memory.
Top2Bottom Diving Team in collaboration with Up Stories, wants to pay tribute to the memory of these unfortunate people and their families, presents the events and their historical development, in order to keep this human tragedy alive in the historical consciousness over the years.
We would like to thank Marios Papavasileiou, owner of the Diver's Corner diving centre, for the diving support at the site of the wreck.
