The European Commission's new engagement initiative, 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, aims to empower citizens in the clean by raising awareness of their and protections under EU legislation, while encouraging active participation in the energy market.

Βeing piloted in , , and , provides tailored information and resources for each country, including short videos, a dedicated website, practical guidance on key energy consumer rights and real-life success stories from across Europe. 📋 Οur field research conducted as part of the project "𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗲," has resulted in a set of comprehensive measures and long-term policy recommendations that can contribute to strengthening in the aftermath of climate related disasters.

As accessibility to information and procedures, as well as the scope and duration of support measures emerged as common challenges in the affected regions, the proposed phase is built on 5 priorities:

🏡 Why do some households face higher energy costs than others?

📑 Energy Poverty Advisory Hub's latest report examines how the of residential buildings influences energy poverty across the European Union.

Drawing on EU-SILC and OECD housing data, the report explores who and why is most affected, and how poor insulation, inefficient heating systems, low energy performance, as well as ongoing policy efforts are linked to across the EU Member States.

The report also highlights where building inefficiency and overlap, providing valuable insights to help target support and more effectively.

Aiming to redefine the concept of “𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲/𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲” and listen to the voices of the climate-affected communities, our research conducted as part of the project "𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗲" has revealed important findings that shed light on the after-climate trauma reality.

🫂 Extended mental health support of the affected communities emerges as an important necessity. Even several years after the disasters, the severity of the events, the extent of the damage, and the violent loss of home continue to cause fear among residents in both regions.

🔎 Although the nature of the events differed, an earthquake in Arkalochori, , and the floods caused by Storm Daniel in , the aftermath for both regions remains similar.

🏡 The loss of home functions as a common source of , creating instability, insecurity, and long-term challenges for citizens in both regions.
