We are proud to introduce you to a new international, multi-sport event that involves athletes of Hellenic heritage from all countries around the world, the PAN-HELLENIC GAMES. The Pan-Hellenic Games will take place every four years in Athens, beginning in 2015, and constitutes an event devoted to creating inter-cultural bridges between the Greeks of the Diaspora and Greece and contributing to the maintenance of national and cultural identity of Greeks from around the world via the athletic ideal.

For a period of ten days in August, 2015, Athens will present a uniquely memorable and exciting celebration of sport and culture. People of Greek ancestry will have the opportunity to participate in a global sports event based on a variety of individual and team sports, which will fulfill their interests and will create an atmosphere that inspires achievement, heritage, and a sense of unity. A number of cultural events and festivities will embrace the games and enrich participants’ Games experience.

We devote ourselves to delivering a spectacular event in the historic city of Athens, Greece, and to capturing the imagination of all Greeks internationally.

Our goal is to create a globally recognized, iconic event that will activate and engage all members of the Hellenic Nation. We want to build a positive global image of Greece built around themes that are true to our capital city, that will unlock desire and interest and will bring together all members of the Hellenic Nation.

Greece is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Greece was one of the first places civilization took hold in Europe and is therefore the birthplace of many things we’re familiar with, including the Olympic Games, Western philosophy, democracy, political science, and Western literature and drama. Surrounded by the Aegean Sea on the East, the Mediterranean on the South and the Ionian Sea to the West, it’s made up of a mainland and more than a thousand islands (227 of which are inhabited). Obviously, the sea has a huge influence on Greek life and culture, but Greece is also one of the most mountainous countries in Europe, with 80% of its land area covered by mountains. The climate of Greece is varied, with Alpine, Mediterranean and temperate zones. It’s a breathtakingly beautiful country, with varied terrain and plenty of photo-worthy features. Principal Motivation
The Pan-Hellenic Games, an international meeting ground for athletes of Greek origin, is a non-governmental organization that strives to mobilize and inspire people, including the private sector in the country. The Pan-Hellenic Games will give incentives to individuals and companies to become more creative and to participate in the realization of a global event that will boost the economy of Greece and multiply the opportunities available to its citizens.

Pan-Hellenic Games is an international, multi-sport event involving athletes of Hellenic heritage from all countries around the world. It is an event devoted to creating inter-cultural bridges between the Greeks of the Diaspora and Greece and contributing to the maintenance of national and cultural identity of Greeks in the world through the athletic ideal.

Pan-Hellenic Games will take place every four years in Athens, Greece, three years after the Summer Olympic Games. The first event will be held in the summer of 2015.

The Games are supervised and directed by the Pan-Hellenic Games organizing committee, which will also control the sporting program and selected activities.

Legacy for sport

The regular conducting of the Games every four years will have an increasingly positive impact on the heritage that the games leave behind them each time they come to a close. Values and ideals are far more effective than governmental programs and funding.
