ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ
Γεννήθηκα το 1963 στο χωριό Πετρωτά του νομού Έβρου. Το 1968 μετανάστευσα με τους γονείς μου στην Γερμανία, όπου ασχολήθηκα αρχικά με την Ελληνορωμαϊκή πάλη και στην συνέχεια με το Box. Σε ηλικία 12 χρονών ξεκίνησα το Tae Kwon Do (Ιnternational) στο οποίο εξασκήθηκα για εξίμιση χρόνια. To 1982 επέστρεψα στην Ελλάδα για να σπουδάσω Διοίκηση και Οικονομία Επιχειρήσεων. Στα τέλη του ίδιου έτους ήρθα σε επαφή με το Wing Chun την ύλη του οποίου ολοκλήρωσα μετά από χρόνια εξάσκησης. Αναζητώντας συνεχώς την πιο καθαρή και αποτελεσματική μορφή της τέχνης γνώρισα διαφορετικά είδη και εκδοχές του Wing Chun, συνδιαλλέχθηκα με πολλούς δασκάλους και κατέληξα το 1985 να έρθω σε επαφή με τον Master Keith R. Kernspecht με αποτέλεσμα να προσχωρήσω στην παγκόσμια οργάνωση του Grand Master Leung Ting. Μαθήτευσα για 18 χρόνια στην οργάνωση μαθαίνοντας, διδάσκοντας και διαδίδοντας το σύστημα.
Ζώντας, όμως, στην Ελλάδα και κατανοώντας βαθύτερα τις ανάγκες, την νοοτροπία και τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει ο ασκούμενος αποφάσισα μετά από ώριμη σκέψη να ιδρύσω την δική μας οργάνωση για να αποδεσμεύσω τους μαθητές μου από την δύσκαμπτη, δογματική στάση μιας μεγάλης, απρόσωπης για εμάς τους Έλληνες, οργάνωσης και να τους βοηθήσω να εκπαιδευτούν απρόσκοπτα χωρίς περιορισμούς και με ένα κόστος ρεαλιστικό, μέσα στις δυνατότητες κάθε ασκούμενου.
Η ίδρυση του Ελληνικού Συλλόγου Yong Chun αποτέλεσε την απαρχή μιας αμφίδρομης και εποικοδομητικής συνεργασίας μεταξύ δασκάλων και εκπαιδευτών, με κύριο γνώμονα την λήψη αποφάσεων που θα κάνουν την τέχνη μας προσιτή στο ευρύτερο κοινό και την ολοκλήρωση της εκπαίδευσης των ασκουμένων, έναν εφικτό στόχο. Πρόθεση μας μέσω της καθημερινής εκπαίδευσης, των σεμιναρίων μας και της συνεργασίας μας με άλλους δασκάλους και Master από άλλες χώρες είναι να εμβαθύνουμε στην ουσία της τέχνης που ο Great Grand Master Yip Man εισήγαγε στον Δυτικό κόσμο, και να μοιραστούμε την γνώση μας με τους μαθητές μας.
Γιατί το Yong Chun είναι πραγματικά μια τέχνη που αφορά στην σωματική, πνευματική και ψυχική ανάπτυξη όλων μας. In 1968 my parents and I immigrated to Germany where I initially became involved with wrestling and subsequently with boxing. At the age of 12 I began training in Tae Kwon Do (International) and continued to do so for the next six and a half years. In 1982 I returned to Greece in order to study Economics and Business Administration. At the end of the same year I commenced training in Wing Chun and after years of vigorous practice I completed the entire system. My constant quest for the purest and most effective form of martial art enabled me to come across various versions and interpretations of wing chun. My interaction with numerous other instructors culminated in 1985 when I met Grandmaster Keith R. Kernspecht and joined the international organization of Grandmaster Leung Ting. I remained in the organization for 18 years learning, teaching and spreading the system. My experiences led to a deeper understanding of the mentality, the needs, and ultimately the problems that a trainee has to deal with, and after careful consideration I decided to establish my own organization in order to disentangle my students from the intransigent and often dogmatic attitude of a large organization. My decision enabled my students to train freely without reserve and restraint, and with a realistic cost adjusted to the individual needs of each trainee. The establishment of the Hellenic Yong Chun Association resulted in the beginning of a constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between Sifus and instructors, and with the main purpose at hand being the dissemination of the art to the public, and the completion of its curriculum within a realistic timeframe. It is our intention through our daily training, our seminars, and our interaction with fellow masters and instructors in different countries, to reach a greater depth of understanding of the substance of the art that Grandmaster Yip Man introduced to the western world, and to share this knowledge with our students.
