✈️ NEW: An easier way to get to Thessaloniki Airport!
Starting Thursday, August 27th, 2026, the Thessaloniki Metro is connected to “Makedonia” Airport by a new shuttle bus service! 🚌
If you are travelling to or from the airport, here’s what you need to know:
🚇 Step 1 – Metro
Take the Metro to Mikra Station, the final station of the Kalamaria line.
🚌 Step 2 – X3 Airport Shuttle
From Mikra Station, take the new X3 bus directly to Thessaloniki Airport.
⏱️ The journey takes approximately 20 minutes, with departures every 20–30 minutes, depending on the time of day.
🕔 From Mikra: 05:00 – 00:00
🕠 From the Airport: 05:30 – 00:25
The X3 makes only a few stops before reaching the airport:
Shopping Centre → Agricultural School → Police Station → Airport
💶 Ticket: €2 for the X3 bus.
Please note that the Metro and bus tickets are separate, so travelling from central Thessaloniki to the airport requires one Metro ticket + one €2 bus ticket.
🎟️ The X3 ticket can be purchased on board by debit/credit card, provided the ticket machine is working, or through the OSETH Bus app.
