Santorini yoga with Veronika I am a yoga teacher in Santorini and Athens offering island inspired group or private classes. Hatha, flow, meditation, perinatal yoga.

The best summer diet is in the seaside tavernas. There is nothing better than spending the morning swimming in the sea and then having some fish, seafood and all the seasonal veggies at a taverna overlooking the water.

One of our favourites in Santorini is 📍 Captain Loizos’ in Monolithos Captain Loizos /Καπεταν Λοΐζος 🐟

Tucked away near the airport, with waters shallow enough that even your youngest kids can have fun while you relax.

Our favourites besides fried calamari and a Greek salad? Fried zucchini with plenty of vinegar and a garlic dip!

A L L that you can fit between arrivals and departures. ✨

Two and half days in Santorini have been filled with yoga teaching, planning this month’s classes, and some (more than some) admin work Caveland Hostel Santorini.

Oh, and some frozen yoghurt, the great views, and, of course, Zoe the dog. 🐶💛

Astypalea’s capital 📍 Chora, is a real jewel. With its windmills, castle walls, colorful doors, simple kafeneios for dinner, friendly cats, and that island simplicity that can’t be reproduced.

You come here every evening after a day well spent at the beach, and you always find a corner you haven’t photographed yet. 💙🇬🇷

Finding today’s beach was a small treasure hunt! Yes, the second best thing to do on a Greek island is renting a car (right after a boat trip). But some of the roads can be steep dirt roads, and you might find yourself questioning whether the effort is worth the bumpy ride.

Let me tell you, 20 minutes of a dusty road led us to one of the best beaches I have ever been to in Greece.

📍 Kaminakia. Not your everyday beach, but definitely worth the trip once during your stay in Astypalea!

Oh, and the seaside taverna has the best food, their own goat cheese, and the quirkiest, homespun decoration. ❤️

If you ever happen to be in Astypalea, save this beach to your favorites. 📍 Agios Konstantinos.

Nothing beats the sea breeze under the ‘almyrikia’ (tamarisk?) trees, crystal-clear waters, and a laid-back beach bar.

And when hunger strikes, there’s a home-style taverna just a few steps from the sea, where both the guests and the cook are watched over by a local goat. 🐐

Just look for the little chapel perched on the rock and follow the dirt road… with even more goats.

T H E real charm of Greek island gastronomy 🥗 is found in the local kafeneia. These are the lively, always-busy places tucked away in small villages, where you stop by for an afternoon coffee and stay as the evening comes alive. You gather with friends to share homemade local dishes, meze style, often accompanied by live music and singing a few nights a week.

Our favorite? Vothonaki Vothonaki cafe & concept store , just a few steps from our home. It’s the kind of place that reminds us that the best meals aren’t about fine dining—they’re about good company, simple food, and authentic local life.
