For the past two years I have worked to develop my iOS app, Guam Dive Guide. I am happy to announce that earlier this week Apple approved my latest update and I have taken my app out of its beta version. Guam Dive Guide is now available, for free, in the App Store.
The focus of this app is to provide the Guam dive community with information concerning dive sites and marine life on Guam and to help build and promote both confidence and dive safety, particularly for newer divers. My intention with this app is to help grow the diving community of Guam’s knowledge as a whole, not to highlight or promote any specific dive operation or instructor.
In the Guam Dive Guide you will find knowledge on Guam marine life, dive sites and their current tide and weather outlooks. I have also included a section to help divers, or those interested in getting certified, find instructors. If you are or anyone you know is an instructor that would like to be listed in the app, please contact me. All instructors are welcome.
The app also provides the ability to report on sightings of crown of thorns and box jellyfish, which are then reported by myself to the appropriate agencies on Guam.
While the app is completely free, and will remain so, it does include some ads, which are clearly labeled as such. In-App Purchases are available for removal of advisements.
Currently the app requires iOS 13, as there were some reports during beta testing regarding compatibility issues on earlier versions. If you are currently running iOS 11 or iOS 12 and would like to beta test the app, please contact me and I’d be happy to provide you with beta access.
