Emancipation Games Guyana Welcome to the home of Guyana's first games to celebrate African villages across Guyana.

Welcome to the home of The Emancipation Games of Guyana, where we highlight and showcase athletic talent in villages all across Guyana to the world!

We Pledge to;
- Promote the upliftment of African villages in Guyana
- Showcase Athletic talent in African villages
- Market and promote the best of the nation's athletic talent
- Promote a resurgence of village pride
- Connect the Diaspora and larger Guyana African community

The Emancipation Games are scheduled for 4th & 5th August 2023 and will follow the traditional Emancipation Day celebrations of August 1. The Games will also precede the observance of the bicentennial anniversary of the Demerara Slave Revolt.

The Emancipation games will be hosted annually in Guyana to honor the Emancipation of enslaved Africans and the anniversary of the Demerara Slave Revolt. The 185th year of Emancipation and the Bicentennial Anniversary of the Demerara Slave Revolt will be observed in August 2023. In honour of the milestone of emancipation and the ushering in of the observance of the resistance to slavery, the inaugural Emancipation Games will be launched in 2023.
