The Defending Champions Ravens basketball club soared to the Finals of second edition of the One Guyana Basketball Championships, edging out the Pacesetters 74-68 in an epic showdown at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The game got off to a blistering start, with both teams trading baskets like heavyweights in the early going. Ryan Stephney's sizzling shooting sparked the Ravens, as he drained back to back three-pointers to stake his team to a 15-8 lead. But the Pacesetters refused to back down, countering with a fierce 5-0 run to close the gap to just two points by the end of the first quarter.

The Ravens regained their footing in the second quarter, with Nikkolai Smith and Stephney combining for key baskets while suffocating the Pacesetters' offense with a stifling zone defense. The Ravens' game plan paid off, limiting the Pacesetters to just 14 points in the quarter and building a 37-27 halftime advantage.

The third quarter saw the Ravens stretch their lead to as many as 14 points, but the Pacesetters had no quit in them. They capitalized on defensive lapses to chip away at the lead, keeping the game within striking distance. Just when it seemed the Ravens were cruising, disaster struck as star point guard Shamaar Huntley went down with a lower leg injury, but Talisman Darcel Harris answered the call, steadying the ship and guided the Ravens to a 57-47 lead heading into the final frame.

The fourth quarter was a war of wills, with the Pacesetters mounting a furious 8-0 run to cut the lead to just one point. But the Ravens refused to blink. The momentum shifted decisively in their favor when Darcel Harris sliced through the Pacesetters' defense, finding a cutting Alroy Nurse for a thunderous dunk over a hapless Juslin Crawford. His attempt to block the shot resulted in a foul and a "poster" whist sending Nurse to the line for an and-1 opportunity. Nurse coolly sank the free throw, giving the Ravens a crucial 4-point cushion.

Nurse was the hero the Ravens needed, scoring 8 of his 13 points in the final frame and converting 8 of 11 free throws to seal the win. Smith's efficient 19-point performance, Stephney's 17 points (including 5-10 from beyond the arc), and Jude Corlette's dominant inside play (17 points on 7-11 shooting) rounded out the winning effort. The Ravens now prepare to face the Royals in the Finals, setting the stage for an electrifying matchup.
