The Kashif & Shanghai Organization, in partnership with the Guyana Basketball Federation and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, has officially launched the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Qualifiers Men’s Championship in Guyana.

This historic venture marks the first time the prestigious regional qualifiers will be hosted in Guyana, after the previous edition was staged in Suriname. The championship also serves as the opening stage of qualification for the Olympic Games, placing Guyana at the forefront of Caribbean basketball development.

The collaboration is expected to elevate basketball locally by bringing elite regional competition to Guyanese soil, while creating greater opportunities for local athletes, fans, and the nation’s sporting infrastructure.
