After being without a functioning committee for over a year, the East Bank Essequibo Area Committee
successfully held its elections on Sunday, May 25, 2025. The much-anticipated event marked the beginning
of a new chapter for the regionβs cricket administration and development.
The election saw the installation of a new executive body, which is expected to revitalize
cricket activities in the area. The elected officials pledged to work collectively to restore
structured programs and foster youth development.

Chairman Vishal Ambedkar expressed his sincere gratitude to the participating clubs for their
continued confidence in his leadership. He acknowledged the progress made during his previous
tenure, particularly in youth training and organizing local competitions, and vowed to continue
building on those initiatives.
In his remarks, Chairman Ambedkar stated, βI am honored to once again serve the cricketing
community of East Bank Essequibo. We have seen promising developments in youth participation,
and with the support of the clubs and stakeholders, we will expand on these gains and ensure that
competitions are held regularly.β
The Committee extended heartfelt thanks to the East Bank Essequibo Cricket Board for facilitating
the long-overdue elections. Special appreciation was also extended to the Cricket Ombudsman,
whose oversight and support played a key role in ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance
with established governance procedures.
With the new executive in place, the East Bank Essequibo cricket community looks forward to a
period of growth, structured development, and renewed enthusiasm for the sport.

Batting first Pomeroon made 63 all out from 16.5 overs with Devon Roberts top scoring with 18 and Bowling for East Bank Joash Charles 5/20 and Mahase Sookdeo 3/16 in reply East Bank made 65 for 3 from 9.1 overs with Thadius Lovell top scoring with 33 and Bowling for Pomeroon J. Rodrigues 2/27.
