St. James's Place Sunset Series Race 6 prize giving

61 boat’s turned out for tonight’s St James’s Place Sunset Series Race 6.
The FF Class led the way around the first mark after a very slow start.
With the assistance of a fast-running current , teams headed quickly down the harbor as the breeze filled in to 6 knots, the Club line finish proving challenging against the current.

JianLiBao named exclusive title sponsor of ATIR – Coastal Rowing for 2026 and 2027

Today the Club announced JianLiBao as the exclusive title sponsor of ATIR – Coastal Rowing for 2026 and 2027, while also celebrating the official establishment of the JianLiBao Charitable Foundation.

The ceremony featured remarks from Ms Alpha Lau, Director‑General of Investment Promotion for InvestHK; Mr Ye Honghan, Chairman of the JianLiBao Charitable Foundation; and Mr David Norton, Commodore of the Club, before Mr Norton and Mr Larry Yeung, Director of the JianLiBao Charity Foundation, signed the sponsorship agreement, marking the start of an exciting new partnership.

Club member Nick Southward and an RHKYC team scored 2nd in IRC at Cork Week. Massive congratulations!

Congratulations to Club member Jamie McWilliam, who entered Pelikanen in the Round the Island Race – Race for All – and came 15th in IRC overall!

Congratulations to Club member Karl Kwok, who entered Beau Geste in the Round the Island Race – Race for All – and came third in line honours. The iconic Round the Island Race is one of the largest of its kind in the world, regularly attracting more than 1,200 boats and around 10,000 sailors. The race, open to all, is also the fourth-largest sports participation event in the UK.

Race 5 of the St. James’s Place Sunset Series

What began as a promising evening ultimately turned into a light-air affair, setting the stage for a highly tactical race where every puff, shift and positioning decision made all the difference. A fleet of 64 boats took to the waters of Victoria Harbour, testing their ability to find pressure and make the most of the challenging conditions.

The sun is out, the breeze is building, and Victoria Harbour is looking spectacular for an evening on the water. With south-westerly filling in, the stage is set for another fantastic race. Good luck to all competitors heading to the start line—we can’t wait to see the action unfold!
