It’s a very sad day when Valley loses one of its own, particularly somebody so young, leaving behind a beautiful family. Messages from team mates and friends have been arriving all day.

At Valley, we have co-ordinated with our senior, long standing French members Fred Laine, Louis Gave and Guillaume Mauffrey a GoFundMe page to support the family going forwards. Please help and support the family if you can.

The Valley RFC family is deeply saddened to acknowledge the passing of Men’s Premiership Player Khrist Kopetzky.

The news is heartbreaking, Khrist played a significant part with Valley over the years, both as a Championship winning player for more than 5 seasons and as a coach with our Valley Fort Rugby Club 🇭🇰 boys teams. He was a true club man and was determined to make his mark at Valley.

We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Khrist’s friends and family, and his wife Paige and their son, Kai. We, alongside many in the Hong Kong rugby community are mourning with you.

Societe Generale Valley RFC 26/27 League launch was held last night as we formally kicked off our Rugby, Hockey and Netball season for the 52nd time - a great night was had celebrating with members, sponsors and supporters.

Samantha Scott, our Chief Operations Officer, talked us through our previous season highlights and introduced our sponsors for the season. Augustine Joseph Leger showcased our new players, and Grant Kemp topped the night off with a panel discussion featuring players from across our sections with Martina , Elderi Bennett-Horak and Paul Altier. Elderi and Paul also shared their prospective journeys to the World Cup next year with Hong Kong China Rugby and Netball Hong Kong, China which is a massive achievement for the teams.

Finally our Chairman Thomas Hall closed the night off with final remarks.

Thank you to our players, management teams, volunteers, supporters and sponsors for the tremendous support and effort we all put in to make our club the mighty Valley RFC!
