In case you missed it, this past weekend our HKFC Men’s First Team upset league leaders Tai Po with a 2-0 win at home, handing Tai Po their first league loss of the season! Callum Beattie (ex-JS player) scored a cracking first goal.
Just two weeks before that, Jesus Salazar (JS coach) scored the winning goal in 1-0 win over Kwoon Chung Southern, also at home.
Back-to-back wins at home. OUR HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE IS FOR REAL.
We currently sit in 7th place in the league table but just a few positive results away from 5th.
This Sunday (Jan 12), Eastern are visiting HKFC stadium to take on our first team. Eastern, another big budget club, currently sit in second place in the league - but they will have their work cut out for them. We are playing great football and have momentum and home field advantage on our side.
We need the JS community to come out this Sunday, make noise and help our team pull off another huge upset. This is a massive fixture, we need you!
PL Match vs Eastern:
Date: 12 Jan 2025 (Sunday)
Venue: HKFC Stadium
Kick off: 4:30pm
All JS players wearing their JS top (and their siblings and friends coming into the stadium with them) will get free admission to the match.
See you on Sunday!
Happy New Year! Here are some photos of the boys who participated in recent Talent ID and HKRT camps during the winter break. Well done to the boys.

They ran out of steam in the group stages losing to Beijing Kickers, but a rest overnight and they came back strongly in the last of the group stages on Sunday morning beating a very good Lions City Sailors side to end up 3rd place in the standings. They entered into the Semi Finals of the Elite Cup beating the hosts FCB 5-1 before going on to win the final against BISP Cruzerio 4-1.
At the BSL Bangkok International Youth Cup HKFC entered 4 teams into the tournament with the Under 8 and Under 9 squads playing in the same age group as well as U10 and U12 teams. The U10 and U12 battled well over the 2 days finishing in 6th and 7th place respectively in their age categories. The U9 and U8 were fantastic over the 2 days with the U9 finishing 3rd in the tournament and the U8 playing up a year winning the Cup after beating a very strong Shenzhen United side in the final.

Best of luck to Coach Tom who will be leaving Hong Kong in a few weeks to return to the UK (but will travel back to HK for work trips). This season was Tom’s 9th season coaching in the Junior Soccer programme, with most of his time spent coaching our girls. The girls gave him a great send off with signed shirt and tankard. Thanks for coaching our girls Coach Tom. You will be missed!
