Kata seminar

It was such a wonderful seminar. We are very grateful for the teachings of Imao sensei, Momoko Ishida sensei and Mariko Ishida sensei on their precious knowledge on kata. Thank you so much for coming to hk. Thanks to the judo association for organizing the seminar.

Hong Kong judo kata championships 2022

We are glad to announce that we won the gold medal in Junokata category.

We wish to express our gratitude to Tsukiyama Sensei, Minamino Sensei, Ashida Sensei and Nakano Sensei. We would also like to thank Koyukan for letting us practice there.

2019 Kodokan Kata Summer Seminar

Great days with Sensei-tachi and good friends. Thanks to Minamino Sensei and Yumi’s sacrifice we finally attempted both sides of Juno kata, and got a ‘精’ grade in the demonstration!
The seminar is a door to the wider world of judo. Fascinating.

2019 Japan Veterans International Judo Championships

We are glad to inform you that we got silver for Juno kata this year.

We thank Our sensei-tachi, Minamino Sensei, Tsukiyama Sensei, Ashida Sensei, Nakano Sensei for your endless support 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️ even knowing that we did not have enough practice this year or even might not be able to participate this year!! Thank you for your encouragement all the time🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

We will not give up and we look forward to compete again next year 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

26/5/2018 Japan Veterans International Judo Championships

We are happy to tell you that we have got gold medals for the Ju No Kata category.
Without the teachings from Minamino sensei and Tsukiyama sensei, we would never be able to achieve such result. We are truly grateful for the time they spared for us, and the unfailing guidance they gave us.
Thank you for the warmest supports from our friends, families and students.

2018 Easter Training Trip
We had another incredible training time with Tsukiyama Sensei and Minamino Sensei!

We learnt new theory and skills from them every single time when they trained us. We don’t know how we can express our gratitude to them 🙇🏻🙇🏻

Thank you Sensei for helping us to understand the theory behind the kata more and more! We both enjoy the training so much!!! Thank you for sensei’s time, patience and effort!!!

And there are extra bonus this time! The beautiful Sakura everywhere!!!

Summar kata course in Kodokan
16 July 2017
We finally have a chance to attend the kodokan summer kata course this year. Although we could only attend the Juno kata session, it's a great experience attending the course. During this trip, we met so many people who love judo, from them you can tell age is not really a reason for you to quit! There are many sensei still teaching and demonstrating judo even in their old age. Their enthusiasm always give people motivation to keep going!

2017 Japan Veterans International Judo Championships -- Ju no kata -- Gold medal

We hope to use this result to repay our teachers to whom we owe a great deal.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Minamino sensei, Tsukiyama sensei, Nakano sensei and Ashida sensei.

Without Minamino sensei's teaching, we will never be able to understand that much about ju no kata. We are truly grateful for sensei's patience and time in sharing her knowledge and in correcting our movement. We will continue to work on the kata so as to further improve.
Thank you Tsukiyama sensei for your teaching and time, your work is so busy yet you still find time to take care of us, we are truly lucky to have your guidance.
Thank you Nakano sensei and Ashida sensei, your warm support is always important for us to continue on the road of kata.

Last but not least, to the students and parents of open heart dojo: Thank you for you guys' understanding and support! Let's work hard together!

Osaka training in Jan 2017

We took kata tutorials from Minamino sensei, Tsukiyama sensei, Ashida sensei and Nakano sensei; thank you for their sharing and patience, especially in such cold weather. We learnt precious knowledge about the kata from them and we will practice hard so that sensei's effort will not be wasted.

We joined Winter training in Osaka 修道館. It was impressive. The teenagers and kids are so strong and skillful! Above all they are very disciplined. We were inspired by their training method. Thank you 修道館for giving us the opportunity to explore ways of teaching.

Although we had an intensive training week, we enjoyed a lot.

2016 South China Invitation Competition
Well done everyone, Samuel, Tommy, Nicolas, Emily and Carrie! And thank you for all the parents' support, including Donald and Enson!! We are so proud of you all, although you may not be satisfied with the result, everyone fought very well today! We saw your improvement and believe it's a very good experience for you all.
We hope you all enjoy your game(s) today. Winning is great, but even you didn't, doesn't matter, there are still many chances out there. Learn from your game today, and find a way to improve, keep the fighting spirit, and continue to practice, we believe you can reach your dream one day too!

1.7.2016 東亞柔道形錦標賽

We participated in the East Asian Judo Kata Championship's Ju No Kata session. Though the result was disappointing, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the Sensei for their unfailing guidance and support. We shall continue on our endeavor.

To all Open Heart Dojo students and parents, we are so touched by your presence and heart warming messages! We are glad that some of you have interest in kata!

今天辛苦大家了，很滿意大家的表現！很高興看到你們不怕比賽！大家要繼續努力，努力是有回報的。恭喜你們嘗試了人生第一次柔道比賽，尤其開心見到Carrie 不肯放棄！終於拿到一面獎牌！要繼續享受比賽！

2015 Japan Veterans International Judo Champion in Ureshiro (19, 20 September 2015)

We are very lucky to have a chance to have private tutorial from Tsukiyama Sensei, Ashida Sensei, Minamino Sensei, Nakano Sensei to teach us Juno kata. With the encouragement from Tsukiyama sensei and our friends, we attempted the competition.

We are very glad that we got our bronze medal in this Juno kata competition. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sensei tachi, for their patience and selfless teaching. Also we like to take this opportunity to thank Iwami Sensei and Amy San for their unfailing guidance and support.

We also hope that we may demonstrate to our students that result is not important (quoted from Ashida sensei), without attempt, you will never know what you may achieve.
